For being a wine bar the by the glass selection is ok at best. Terrible service. Had dessert and drinks. Ordered a second round which never came. Waited over 20 minutes and never saw anyone again or the heck. Finally put money on the table and left. Still didn’t see any waitstaff. They should consider themselves lucky I paid. Second visit; wasn’t very impressed the first time but gave it another chance. Certainly wouldn’t recommend it.06 Dec, 2013A bit disappointed in the wine selection. Especially considering their marketing. Interesting atmosphere, good food, but the staff was a bit nonresponsive. Would go occasionally but not a place to go to too often.
Delish! Vin 25 is a small, quaint restaurant in the Downtown Roswell area. The scene was lively, the service was excellent and the food was amazing! The perfect place for a date night or meeting up with friends. Parking is easy as it’s off the main street and has its own dedicated parking. A must try!
Great food, great service, lots of attention to detail, best outdoor dining environment in Roswell.
Great Wine, Great Service, Great Patio. My husband selected Vin 25, a fairly new wine bar and restaurant in Roswell, for our anniversary – and am I glad he did! The wine list – both by the glass and bottle – is very well planned by Coop, the owner and sommelier. The wines are not inexpensive, but they are a fair price for the quality. We enjoyed having Coop stop by our table for several wine tastes before we selected the ones we wanted, and he did this for several other tables, too. Talk about customer service!Drew, our waiter, was also terrific, and provided good service and menu recommendations. The food menu, especially the main dishes, is limited, but from our experience each dish is thoughtful and well prepared. We started with in-house smoked charcuterie, and I could have made a meal on the house bacon. After splitting a house salad, I had the lamb sirloin, which was delicious, and my husband had the pork chop. We did order a dessert this time (it was, after all, our anniversary!) and thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate peanut butter cup that had some interesting sauces and a shot of mango sherbet on the side.It was a perfect evening, and very close to our home. We will be back to sit on that shady patio and enjoy more good wine, great service, and tasty treats!
Excellent! We arrived on anniversary w/out reservations to 2 hr wait. Decided to have glass of wine and listen to live music. Got lucky and had table w/in 30 min. The owners Sarah & Phil were great. Phil helped us select bottle of wine, dinner was served and the meal was fantastic as was the service. We will definitely be back and strongly recommend.
Marti. Had a great time there Saturday. It was crowded but we still got lots of attention (not too much) deciding our wine choices. For dinner we had the scallops which were very good. We might have been the oldest (late 50s) ones there. Can’t wait to return on a weeknight to try more food and wine.
We were on our way to take the Roswell Ghost Tour this past Halloween night when we decided to grab some dinner before the festivities. We are no strangers to the vibrant culinary scene off Canton St. in Roswell, but we wanted to try something new. We heard about Vin 25 from a few friends and decided to give it a whirl. The restaurant itself is located just a stones throw from the hustle and bustle of downtown Roswell. While it is within walking distance, the location lends the restaurant a chance to create its own identity ( a complaint I have about the jumbled together eateries on Canton St.). From the parking lot to the little cottage exterior, everything about this place shouted come in from the cold, get comfy, and enjoy…..so thats exactly what we did.Upon entering we were greeted by several staff members whom all seemed very courteous and professional, but not in a stuffy pretentious way. One of the staff escorted us to our table. After our drink order was taken (we opted for beer, but make no mistake this place has an amazing wine selection and a knowledgeable and helpful staff), I was able to take in the interior. As inviting as the exterior of the building is, the interior is even more charming. It is small, some might even say quaint, but with an upscale, yet rustic feel. Everything seemed to be designed to make the patron feel cozy and relaxed. All and all, a very nice place to be.Our drinks came out (a couple of pumpkin craft beers from the quality over quantity draft beer menu) – I also need to mention that one of the servers made sure to get us a taster of the beer just to be 100% sure we liked it before ordering, really going to extra mile – Our server then went over the specials of the night and, upon our request, some of his own recommendations. We decided to start off with the Arancinis (fried risotto balls), and they were delicious. Crispy on the outside, but when bitten into you get the soft, perfectly cooked risotto, pieces of bacon, mushroom and melted cheese. A perfect start to our meal. The menu as a whole is set up almost to a la carte the experience of course dining. It is by no means a prix fix menu or anything, there is just a nice progression of suggestions the menu gives to you. On a normal night we probably would have cracked a bottle and indulged a little more, as some of the snacks, apps and salads sounded amazing. But, as it was, we were a bit pressed for time, so we went straight to the main course. Upon my servers recommendation, I ordered the Pork Chop, and my date, the Flat Iron Steak. I would not usually opt for the chop, but I am glad I took the servers word for it. The flavor was big but balanced, and the meat was juicy and cooked to perfection. The roasted butternut squash and the port wine applesauce were a perfect accompaniment to the dish. While the chop still might not be my go to protein at other establishments, I can say with full confidence, it will not be my last one at Vin 25.As I said, my date went for the Flat Iron Steak. I could tell she enjoyed it very much because it took several pleads from me to convince her to part with a bite. When I tasted it though I could understand why. Again, the steak was cooked perfectly to her rare-to-mid-rare specifications. The meat was seasoned just right and the steak itself was buttery and delectable. And lets not forget about those fingerling potatoes, pan-fried in duck fat, woof. A great dish.As the plates were cleared, the server asked the obligatory did we save room for dessert question. To which I usually reply with the obligatory I am full answer, however, the combination of glancing over the dessert menu and our friends recommendation of experiencing the Vin 25 desserts, we decided to indulge a bit. A smart move. We went with the bananas foster and the pumpkin bacon doughnuts. Probably my only complaint about the whole experience was the bananas foster. The flavor was good, but it was a bit too soupy for my liking. However, whatever complaint I had with the foster was soon forgotten upon my first bite of the doughnuts. A strange combination to the ear, I grant you, but to the palate they are divine. Warm and soft with a side of vanilla bean ice cream and some raspberry and chocolate sauces, this was truly a great end to a great meal.Vin 25 is a must try in my opinion. The building is warm and inviting (cant wait until it gets warmer so I can take advantage of the great outdoor seating space), the staff is courteous and helpful, and most importantly the food is simply great. I cant wait to go back.
