When we heard that there was a 45-60 minute wait next door at Crab Daddy’s, which was extremely crowded, we decided to go to The Crab Trap, which only had a 10-15 minute wait, and we’re glad we did. The service wasn’t the best, but the food was really good and came fast. In fact, we had drinks at the bar, sat at our table, ate, and paid the bill before the pager from next door at Crab Daddy’s went off. You get a good bit of food for your money here as well. The atmosphere is casual, and you can get in and out with a good meal in record time.
So delicious!! Lightest fried shrimp and delicious oysters. Would recommend highly!Ice cold beer and delicious food. A must visit place in st Simons.
Great atmosphere although food overpriced. Great decor. Friendly staff. We had the soft shell crab, which was tasty and the Cajun shrimp that had excellent texture. So many times shrimp is overcooked. The flavor was good, but not spicy like expected. Fries were thick and soft. Excellent flavor. Prices of mixed drinks weren’t listed on the menu. The size was smaller than average but the cost was higher. Bathroom was clean. Overall good experience, just ~25-30% overpriced.
The Crab Trap is great spot that serves an excellent variety of seafood and is in walking distance from The King and Prince Golf & Beach Resort. We enjoyed raw oysters, she-crab soup and an entree of soft-shell crab and peel and eat shrimp. We all had a great time!
Good hush puppies. We had snow crab legs, which were good. Hush puppies and salad excellent. Corn on cob too. Fried shrimp was just ok.
Came here on recommendation during a conference and LOVED it. Everything we had was delicious: we had the blackened shrimp app (delicious! Could have eaten triple what they put on the plate) and then split the mahi mahi which had a bleu cheese cilantro sauce on it. It was to die for. Even the mashed potatoes were really good. I recommend calling ahead or making a reservation on the weekends.
Long John silvers is better. Quality service. The manager apologized for the awful food . Flavorless fried food at seriously expensive prices is shameful. I will never return!!!!!
