It has been 2 hours now and the food still hasn’t come out.17 May, 2015Abysmally slow service. Got there at 7:30 and the food still wasn’t at the table at 9pm.
Food was good, service good, took hour and s half to get food but it was all good, just know it going in. Big wedding party there when we got there, might have been a problem. Would go again.
Great service! Amazing food. My husband and I went there and it took 2 hours but we enjoyed it. The waitress did tell us that the kitchen is on the 2nd floor and the restuarant is on the 5th so sometimes things take a bit longer because of that. Everything we ate was fabulous! Will be back! Great view and nice breeze!
Not impressed. My friends and I came for the view, but were greeted with rude servers. There were several empty tables and we were told that we would be on a wait, I would understand this if there was a crowd, but that was not the case. Once at the bar, the bartender was condescending and not helpful. Despite the rude staff, the entire establishment was disorganized and unprofessionally run. I’ve had much better service at chick-fil-a.
Hit or Miss. I’ve had great meals at Ocean Lodge but some really awful ones lately. The fish special was so salty it was inedible. The next night I had 2 friends who went and also got the fish special and said the same thing. There are some excellent waiters and some really lousy ones and lately it seems the excellent ones are not working. It’s a great place for drinks with a nice ambience and lovely views but until they do some serious work on the food I won’t be dining there.
Horrible. Me and two family members went for Memorial Day. Since I’ve worked previously in the F&B business, I understand the delays that come with holidays. With reservations, we did get seated pretty quickly. Then the disappointment began. It took a complete 23 minutes for us to get all our drinks (the waiter brought each persons drink one at a time). We placed our order but the waiter came back 15 minutes later to tell one that they were out of Prime Rib. Another 27 minutes later, we got our appetizers. A complete 43 minutes later, no apologies nor acknowledgements from the waiter we got our dinner with the sides being cold. We were never offered a desert nor discount for our troubles. I gave a great tip because that’s my character. The waiter and manger could take a lesson. DEFINITELY NOT FIRST CLASS!
The service was impecable… I was a bit chilly and without asking the hostess moved a heater towards me, also the food was amazing. The mushrooom ravioli was incredible, also chocolate bread pudding the chef said he made on a whim. After dinner we sat by the fire pit and enjoyed another glass of wine surrounded by the beautiful atmosphere of St.Simons Island.
