Great First Visit. Dined at Horseradish Grill for lunch to celebrate New Year’s Day and a friend’s birthday. I tried the fried catfish with collards and mashed potatoes with gravy. Was very impressed with the catfish, delicious, but the collards lacked any seasoning. Ironically, my friend encouraged me to order them because she said they were the best thing on the menu; must have a new chef. I loved the atmosphere, and will be back for a Friday or Sunday night dinner.
Never disappoints. We love this neighborhood restaurant. The food is always delicious. The selections of vegetables is outstanding and their trout superb. Excellent choice before attending a function at the adjacent Chastain Amphitheater. Good value and great service.
Used to be one of my favs for brunch… Not anymore. I don’t know if there has been a change in management but the brunch left me with much to be desired. I was especially disappointed when I ordered the french toast with bacon as a side and received ONE slice of bacon!!!! The french toast was definitely not the meal I remember. Sad to say but I will not be returning for brunch. Goodbye old friend.
Wish I had a better experience. I took my friend here for Valentines day dinner, we were lucky to get reservations on the same day. Place was packed as they added several rows of tables which are not normally there. Seated quickly and drink orders taken, discussed daily specials with our server and ordered. Biscuits were brought with drinks and my friend observed that they were not very good. Salads were brought out and were good. We then waited another 40 minutes for main courses, she had the trout and really liked it. I ordered one of the daily specials, an 8 oz filet topped with grilled shrimp and bearnaise. I ordered this medium rare, the center arrived a solid medium+ with the outer sections medium well. Discussed this with our server who acknowledged it was wrong and offered to have it re-cooked. I was not willing to wait another 15-20 minutes or more while my friend either ate or had hers removed and reheated. I ended up eating this over cooked ruined piece of beef, I was clearly not a happy camper and our server did absolutely nothing to try and correct this. He knew we were upset and after our plates were cleared he thrust the desert menu in my friends face, needless to say we did not have dessert. I guess it is possible they added staff for Valentines day and our server was a temp. I only gave this a thumbs up because of previous visits and my friend did enjoy her trout. I may try again on a less busy day.
Good. The Horseradish Grill was a good experience. The crab bisque app was good and the duck cooked 2 ways with a potato hash was on point. The atmosphere was intimate and unique since it looks like it was an old farmhouse at one point and its in a residential community. All in all it was good meal and I’d recommend it.
Dinner was terrible! My husband had a meatloaf that tasted like frozen food. After we came from the restaurant he went straight to the bathroom, not feeling well an having a stomachache the until midnight… I had the gold and red beet salad they forgot to add the toasted almonds! , vinaigrette was very simple and taste mostly to oil….Dessert was the final disappointment .. Peach clobber with ice cream, looked and tasted like a peach and flour syrup soup! We had two teaspoons of it and left the rest! Never again we will come back to this restaurant!
LOVED it!. Our whole family made a same-day reservation for 6, and were promptly seated when we arrived. The little house it’s in is historically a restaurant near the perimeter and was absolutely adorable. The wine and champagne selections were excellent, and the food was completely fabulous. The rabbit pot pie was to die for. Everything right down to the homemade bread and butter pickles was delicious. The service was impeccable and we cannot wait to go back!
