Wonderful!! Impeccable service, starting as soon as you arrive! It was raining and the valet came to our car with a huge umbrella! The menu includes fresh fish and aged beef options (and vegetarian options). Perfect for an intimate dinner or group special event.
The food was good and our waitress was excellent. The reason for the 2 review is due to the following. Hostess claims all seats were full and put us on a 45min wait even though we had a reservation. This was unacceptable so my wife and I decided to sit in the bar area. We proceeded to enjoy beverages and decided to order apps and our entree. All was fine until the hostess came up to us in front of other patrons and employees to tell us we had a reservation and couldn’t eat in the bar area. We laughed that off and told her to go discuss it with her supervisor. To our surprise, she actually must of gone to her management because this quirky little fella came over to question us regarding our reservation. Never a good idea to question customers in front of its staff or its customers as to why you decided to eat at a bar area vs waiting 45 min for a table. So, I quickly explained to this little man that questioning my intent was probably not in his best interest. I quickly redirected his unprofessional style and suggested he question his and his hostesses approach. Good luck Rays but you will not earn my nor my clients business anymore.
The cold seafood appetizer is amazing. Try also the horseradish crusted grouper. Excellent service and wonderful ambienceThis was my first visit to Ray’s, but it will be a must visit every time I’m back in town.
Not with the effort. Expecting a quality dining experience, I dined at Rays on the River. It was less than impressive. Understaffed, undertrained and undercooked, my meal and overall experience was overpriced and overrated. I should have stuck with my original choice of a good rib joint
Was the chef cleaning out the pantry for Sunday brunch?. Let me preface by saying Rays in the City is our go-to spot for dining when we are in Atlanta to the point that our hotel selection is determined by its proximity to Rays. Sunday we were in Roswell and decided to treat ourselves to Rays on the River for brunch. It was a terrible disappointment. The scrambled eggs were dry, food was not being replaced in a timely manner, they ran out of plates and bowls, and everything looked like cafeteria food. The eggs Benedict (when they finally replaced the empty pan) looked like they had gone to McDonalds, thrown away the top half of the Egg McMuffin and added a dollop of hollandaise. The highlight was a very tasty salmon mousse but there were no crackers or toast points at the station to eat it on. The bathroom was not clean at noon on Sunday and they were almost completely out of amenities if you consists toilet tissue an amenity and not a necessity. We will not be going back to that Rays!
We had reservation and arrived on time, but had to wait 40 minutes to be seated. After being seated it took the waiter 10 minutes just to acknowledge us and bring water. It took another 10 minutes for him to come back and take our order. At this point I asked for bread because I was starving! 15 minutes after placing my order the waiter comes back to say that they have run out of what I ordered and to choose something else! Still no bread in sight. At this point it was an hour and 15 minutes past the original reservation and we had to get up and leave in order to make it to our next event. I wish I had been able to taste the food, but in all that time all I got was water.
