I come from a household that always had venezuelan and cuban influenced foods. By chance I came upon this place and I was pleasantly surprised. The menu is divided into countries with their typical plates. The first time I ordered the antojo platter, which was a little bit of all the columbian dishes. I ordered this dish so I could taste the different offerings. The steak was very delicious, the beans and rice were as well. I was not impressed with the chicharon (i think the venezuelan ones are made differently). My friend ordered the arepa, which is a corn cake made in both venezuela and columbia. I tried this as well and it was delicious. I can make these on my own, but they are no where near as good. The pulled chicken and pulled beef that went inside the arepa were very well done. Also the empanadas are very good. My next visit I ordered empanadas and an arepa with some friends and they loved it. The reason for my 4 star is that the service could use some classes.
Mediocre food, terrible atmosphere. We went there on a Friday evening around 6:30, during which time the management was fiddling with its sound system. Volume way UP, volume down. Volume way UP, volume down. Volume way UP, volume down. This went on for about 15 minutes, at which point we (a group of about 10 people) considered going elsewhere, and asked if it was too late to cancel our orders. When the waitress asked why, we explained the issues we had with the excessive volume of the sound system, and she got the manager to stop playing around with it.Our food came, and my burrito was just that: a burrito. I didn’t have high expectations and that’s exactly what I got. My wife ordered the Cuban sandwich and was disappointed. It was bland, and the bread had the texture of toasted French bread from the supermarket; not at all like the the Cuban sandwiches we’d enjoyed in South Florida.Through no fault of the restaurant, we happened to be there on a night when the FIFA soccer games were in full swing, and the tables near us were rowdy. Nothing could be done and it’s no one’s fault. It just made a bad experience even worse. We won’t go back, and I don’t recommend the food or the atmosphere.
