Don’t get me wrong: this isn’t the prettiest place to go for Mexican food and the service was slow, even though the dinner rush hadn’t yet started. That being said, the tacos were so delicious, it was the only place we wanted to visit more than once during our short stay in Savannah. Spouse had Island Hopper tacos– the jerk marinated steak brought tears to his eyes, both due to spice and tastiness. I had the falafel tacos, and they were outstandingly yummy. Vegetarians and meat-lovers alike will find something tasty from the limited yet inexpensive menu. The margaritas were nothing to write home about, but the food far made up for that. Live music was just beginning on the patio as we left. A bit of a walk south from Forsyth Park, but it’s doable, or utilize the free lot or street parking.
Loved this restaurant!! It does have a parking lot next to the restaurant. It was full when we got there but there was plenty of street parking as well. They do have outside seating in the front but they also have large garage doors on the sides of the building. It was a nice day and they had the doors up so even though we sat inside we could still feel a breeze. It was nice! The food came out pretty quick and it was delish!! They did have a kids meal and we got the fruit as a side for our little one (pineapples and strawberries). He ate his entire meal! We got the tacos and the fried pickles as sides (Love that you can get fried pickles as a side! And they’re the spears..really good) The Memphis was good but I really liked the pollo loco taco! It was a little spicy (for me) but it was SO good! I will definitely get it again next time! I would recommend this restaurant for sure!
Wish the service was as good as the food. They never seem to serve the apps before the food. It’s always served with or after. Took them about 20 min to get me a beer. They are usually rude when I ask for something. I don’t think I’ll go back just because I didn’t feel welcome. They need a new and more attentive staff.
Not your traditional southern BBQ. It is good tho. Service was assume and the Guy playing music was pretty good. Was surprised its a half Mexican place. I will def be back.
I tried the beef rib and it was fantastic. In fact everyone in our party (20) enjoyed their meal. Only complain if you want to it that is they put sugar in their collard greens.
Great find. Found Blowin Smoke near the apartment we were staying at and we were delighted. The food was great, especially for the price and the service was terrific. Try the pulled pork or brisket. We loved them both!
