Horrible Experience. Very bad experience with this bar. My friends and I picked this bar to spend New Years Eve on. We were from out of town. I paid a $5 cover charge for myself and my friends to get in. I had already bought several drinks when I got there and then spent more money on drinks for second and third rounds. Now get this, when I went back for a fourth time I was REFUSED SERVICE because as both of the bartenders told me, I had not TIPPED them so they would not serve me. I told them both that was BS because I had already given them $10 in tips and both of my friends saw me tip them but regardless you DONT refuse service to any customer because you did not get tipped. I am from Orlando and I was visiting Savannah so needless to say I will warn my friends in both Florida and Georgia to stay far away from this bar.
Buried underneath what must be a condemned building on River Street, lies Chuck’s Bar. It’s old, in need of a little TLC, it smells, it’s dark and I love it. You can’t create this kind of atmosphere…it evolves over time. Stop by, have a drink, and write something on the bathroom wall. Do your best to leave with a buzz. If you see Earlie and his girls, make sure to say hi.
