It left a bad taste in my mouth!. My first impression of Circa 1875 was that it was cute and quaint with a good wine list. The establishment serves French food and can seat at best 50 people. However, when you spend over $100 on a meal, which you will most likely spend if you go to this establishment, you want to feel as if you are welcome in the establishment, my friends and I regrettably did not feel this way, therefore I will not return here to dine and I will NEVER recommend this restaurant to my out of town guests. I brought some friends here for the first time last night and we were a table of eight. Two of our guests were a little late to the restaurant due to some issues with children. Those with children know that at times, it can take more than a minute to get them ready and out the door. The hostess Hanna came by our table and asked us if they were coming because they needed the two top that was edged next to our table to allow for eight people. I was kind of baffled by the request because there was a four top and a two top that was empty and no one was waiting at the door to be seated. We could not get ahold of our guests and trying to be polite we let them have the table back. There was still an empty table for two and four when our guests finally arrived to the restaurant. When we asked if we could push the table back, we were informed rather rudely that that was not possible. Now I can totally understand if you have guests waiting at the door with no seats in the restaurant, that would have been rude on our part to keep the table occupied, but this was not the case. We were forced to squish together and make the best of the situation. What kind of establishment treats its guests like this…? I guess they have enough clientele that Circa does not feel as if it needs to foster good customer service to its guests. Other than this the food was good and our waitress Gailynn did her best to push through an awkward situation. However, because of Hanna, I am left with a bad taste in my mouth! Buyer Beware, you have been warned!
Amazing European experience. I felt like I was back in Paris, France. My wife loved it! Very romantic n soothing atmosphere.
Great Experience!. The restaurant is very cutie and quaint. I would highly recommend the Plateau du Chef. It was delicious and plentiful. Try a Pimm’s Cup too!
We’ve enjoyed dinners at both 45 Bistro and Circa 1875. We enjoy the food, atmosphere, service and prices a little bit more at Circa 1875.
Mine was a perfect experience. My companion and I were very satisfied with three courses, no dessert. I had the scallop app, arugula and beet salad, and lamb shank. The app portion was small but not together with salad and main course; together the portions were just right, and the food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. Highly recommended. Hope your meal is as good.
