When things go wrong in the kitchen you can get a sense ofit but you really dont know what is going on back there. My friends and wentto Circa 1875 and my lovely wife and one friend chose the Lamb Osso Buco Ichose the Steak. All three were the special of the night. Well after eachcouple drank a bottle of wine each and we had no food we realized somethingmust be amiss in the kitchen. Three dishes came out after an hour and the steakfollow ten minutes later. My one friend had the Black Sea Bass with tomato sauceand she loved it. The lamb Osso Buco was also delicious. The accompanying Couscouswith squash was not enjoyed by either party who had the dish. I had the steakand crab cake special. They must have cooked this first and then had to wait onthe lamb to be done, and by the time I got the steak it was barely warm. Thebig surprise to me is the Steak was $50.00. Now that is not with lobster just acrab cake. The steak came with a barnaise sauce that was so cold it had congealed.The Crab cake had a Rmoulade Sauce italso was cold and jelled. I hate to have to tell the people in the restaurantthat their food is crap and cause a big fuss, so like most I just left so disappointed.I like this restaurant but it was their off night and I paid $50.00 for a badsteak. At these prices there is no excuse.
The food and service were both excellent. I’d definitely go back as well as recommend to friends. I had the filet mignon / crab cake special which was cooked perfectly as requested and extremely good. GF enjoyed the ratatouille. Dining area was very nice but the first table on the right has a constant cool breeze.
