Kind of tucked away in downtown with its own parking lot (bonus!), this is really cool place to grab a meal and hang out. We sat in the back and it was a little dark with lots of older pictures on the wall but the bar area is really cool! Unfortunately, I didn’t have any beer so I can’t report on that, although I don’t think they’re lacking any options in that department. The crab cake sandwich was pretty good- it had good flavor. I also had the burger with Mac and cheese on top. I wasn’t for sure how I felt about mac n’ cheese on a burger but the waitress talked it up and I went for it. I’m glad I did because it was really good. I ordered well done and it wasn’t dried out at all, it was cooked perfectly.

Had to wait over an hour but to be fair it was a Friday. We went with the burgers, my husband had lamb and I went with a standard burger. The best part, hand cut fries. Not sure why more people don’t offer these. Good experience, would go back.
This is in my list of best burger joints! The Greek Lamb burger is my hands-down favorite. It comes with a Tsadziki sauce made in house. Their craft beer selection is also spectacular. The setting is a perfect Savannah experience as it is a historic speakeasy that opened for legal business the day prohibition was lifted. The place is good so be prepared for a little wait. It is a locals place, not located in the heart of tourist Bay St or City Market. UPDATE: Came back and finally ordered a non burger. The Flounder Reuben was fantastic! The shrimp and grits was a daily special and was OK but not the best in savannah. We ordered sausage and cream sauce on side since my daughter was eating it and doesn’t like spice. They were happy to accomdate. We also ordered the strawberry bisque which was soup of day. It was sweet, amd reminded me of fresh strawberry shortcake but more of a dessert.
Crab stew is a must! Skip the crab dip. Wide selection of local and domestic beer The burger was delicious, great atmosphere, and staff was very accommodating! Would definitely go back!
This place is just ok. Their excessive advertising is working for them though because there is always a wait. It’s certainly not worth waiting more than 15 minutes for so if you are in line and reading this, go somewhere else. It’s just not that good.
Bad decision to change recipe.. I like the restaurant, having been a customer since the late 1960’s. My favorite was always the shrimp salad sandwich. Two slices of bread piled high with shrimp salad full of diced shrimp, mayo, and other spices. The best that ever caressed my taste buds. Now it is a pinkish colored concotion served on toast and not worthy of being served in any restaurant in Savannah, much less in the Crystal Beer Parlor. I recommend the restaurant for atmosphere and generally good food but stay away from the shrimp salad
