Awful Food, Awful Management. This is the worst Japanese food I’ve ever eaten. The food was laced with grease and lacked flavor. I’ve been to several Japanese restaurants but I decided to try Heiwa’s during a trip to Savannah. I wouldn’t advise anyone to eat here if they truly enjoy Japanese cuisine. They nickel and dime you for every piece of vegetable you want to add. The only good thing would be the ginger sauce. One person in my party asked for a vegetarian meal. Tofu was not an option so she opted for veggies. It was an additional dollar to add broccoli and an additional dollar for green peppers. When the greasy mess came out she decided not to eat it. The owner still charged her and threatened to call the police because she wouldn’t pay. So she called the police for them. No one should pay for sub-par food that is was not eaten. This establishment is a poorly-run, classless operation. The food is terrible and the management is worst than the food.
Decent Sukiyaki. Ordered the sukiyaki here the other day and was pleased to find it was well prepared, with balanced flavors. A little on the sweet side, but nothing a little Sririacha sauce can’t fix.
Yanked on the heavy door and thought the place was closed. After we walked in, we saw that the place was completely empty. The waitress didn’t even get off her seat to greet us and pointed to the tables. She didn’t mention the salad that comes with our entrees or ask about what dressing we wanted. I had to ask her about it as she was leaving with our menus. And even then there was little effort shown in preparing the salad. It was just a bowl of lettuce and a container of shrimp sauce on the side. It was already set to be a disappointment. I didnt even think to order sushi here. I ALWAYS order sushi at a japanese restaurant. But the teriyaki chicken was delicious.
A GrEaT HiDEawaY !!. ..met a best friend here for ‘going away’ dinner!!….very scrumptious food…we sat at the bar andenjoyed ourselves immensely; even entertained bythe chef..!!….will definitely go back !!
Nice price, nice meal. Stopped in, told the sushi chef I had $20.00 to spend on sushi. Got two full plates, app and quality service. I’ll be back soon.
