We have visited Savannah every year since my brother started at SCAD and going to Leopold’s has become a tradition. Absolutely love their ice cream! I have been impressed with flavors like Honey Almond, Pistachio, Caramel Swirl, Coconut, and the infamous Tutti Fruitti. Lines are generally long and the prices are on the high side but I do believe these ice cream cones are worth it. Looking forward to coming back to an almost century old establishment!!
In keeping with the tourist trap tradition… we went to Leopolds! So good! We had a great time and it was totally worth the wait which was really not too bad as they move people through pretty fast. We did have trouble finding a seat and ended up walking down the street to find a place to sit. Really good.and definitely a crowd pleaser!
I love Leopold’s. Their ice cream is great, and their old school ice cream parlor atmosphere can’t be beat. Old school service goes along with the surroundings. If a movie is letting out of the Lucas Theater, rest assured that the line will soon wrap around the street and the waiters from the ice cream parlor will soon start serving iced water to the crowd waiting in line. Love the attitude!! My absolute favorite flavor is pistachio…I keep coming back to it. Also – stop by for lunch if you’re in the area, they have a selection of sandwiches and light bites.
My husband and I stopped here for dessert on our honeymoon. I got a single scoop butter pecan in a waffle cone. This was a generous serving and actually couldn’t eat the whole thing. It was creamy with the right amount of crunch to the pecans and the right amount of sweetness. I will definitely go here again. The atmosphere is great.
The ice cream was very good as advertised and the service was pleasant. Had the honey, almond and cream which I’d happily have a second time. Worth the visit, will go again.
I fell in love with their ice-cream. It was my first lavender ice-cream – AWESOME. Caramel swirl is also recommended. This place has a really cool atmosphere. It’s a must while visiting Savannah!
