Excellent Hole in the Wall Taqueria. First of all, this place is located at 143 E Montgomery Xrd, which is much farther west than shown in the map. It is tucked away in the corner of an old strip shopping center on the south side of the road, and is a little tough to find. But trust me, it’s worth it.The front of the store is a small Mexican market where you can buy boots and hats, hot sauces and spices, Mexican candies and snacks, and very long distance phone cards. The actual restaurant is in the back. There are several tables, and one or two large screen televisions that have always been showing futbol (soccer) games the many times I’ve been. Pretty much zero atmosphere, IMO, and so I always order take out, but, oh, the food! This is basically a little taqueria, serving – hands down – the best tacos and tortas found around these parts. They have excellent salsas to accompany the tacos, which are the double-wrapped soft tacos, not your Taco Bell crunchy ones. Every time I stop in, the tacos are so good I wonder why its been so long since my last visit. I especially like the tacos carne asada, but everything I’ve tried has breen great. Delicious.
