Worst Indian restaurant. Went today for buffet. There was no food in the restaurant. With limited choices most of the dishes were empty. We had to wait for half hour for food to be cooked. Very disappointed.

Avoid. I had never been to this restaurant and was attracted by a two for one buffet coupon. I love Indian food. I have been to India and had Indian food all over the world. This buffet was the worst I have ever experienced. The food had some sort of odd flavor which I did not like. Some was not served very warm and the spicing was far too timid. I felt miserable all afternoon. I recommend you avoid this restaurant.

Not good at all. The Pakwaan is much better.

After reading some of the reviews my husband andIi were concerned about going to this restaurant. They had just cleared a table when we got there. it was 15 minutes after we had been sitting (eating papadams while holding them in our hands) when we asked, we got napkins and silverware. Their mint chutney was amazing! We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken – both HOT (three chilli peppers by their notation). This was after a long discussion with wait staff on whether it would be hot enough. Well, when we got our food, the dishes were mild! My husband thought the flavor of the food was ok, but they just couldn’t get the spice level we asked for! We asked them to spice them up. They brought them back and they still tasted mild! We had to ask for red chilli powder and sprinkle it to make the dishes spicy enough. I don’t plan on going back.

My husband and I used to come here all the time before they had the fire. After the fire and restaurant rebuild, we tried it again and were unimpressed. We banned it again for about another year and then heard it was good again. We went for dinner and it was fabulous. We recently went to dinner and again it was fabulous, so we raved about it to our family. We went today (Black Friday) and the buffet selection was terrible and the service was horrendous. When we tried to order off the regular menu we were told numerous items weren’t available. Several other individuals around us tried the same thing and were told that didn’t have that item available. Even the consistency of the food was poor and majority of the items were empty. They could not keep it filled fast enough. Who doesn’t have kheer?? Highly disappointed, most likely wont return for a good long while. It’s sad because they have the potential to be awesome but lack of care and service are keeping them from it.

Below average. Good food, great variety, well balanced flavour. I recently moved to Savannah and after frantically searching for Indian restaurants I came across 2 of them (yes there are only 2). ‘Pakwan’ and ‘Taste of India’.Being a bachelor any ready-made food goes with me, but being a vegetarian my options are always limited, and being a male buffet is what I always aim for 😀 The reviews were all over the place so I decided to try both the places before taking my pick. First came Taste of India (which happens to be right across from my office). The choices were disappointingly limited. 1 vegetable (very oily), 1 curry, 1 dal is all they had for a vegetarian. In all there were 7 dishes (veg + non-veg) including appetizers, main course and dessert. The taste was alright and the general look of servers and managers face wasn’t welcoming or warm in any way.Another day I decided to go to Pakwan. The moment I entered I knew I was in for a treat. Smiling faces to welcome me, courteous manager to tell me what’s special in the buffet and tons of options to choose from. There were atleast 10 vegetarian dishes, 2 non-veg, in-house pickle & hot-sauce, raita, 3 desserts. My only regret is that I couldn’t try everything because I was so full. The food was not oliy or hot at all so my american friends would definitely enjoy it. For the more adventurous there’s always Indian hot-sauce.Next time I have to eat Indian food in a restaurant I’m going to Pakwan even if it means having to travel a little beyond across my office.
