Atmosphere is fun but loud (wood floors don’t help noise). The salsa they bring with the chips is excellent. Fresh cilantro and lots of onion flavor. I couldn’t help myself from ordering the queso with chorizo. It is very flavorful with just a touch of spice (favorite dish of night). My picky 6 year old even liked it. I usually order a Coronarita at Mexican restaurants. This one was served in a pint glass instead of Margarita glass and was just ok in taste. I would try a different Margarita next time. I ordered the Tacos El Pastor (marinated pork) which is new to the menu. They were dry and not spectacular and I probably wouldn’t order again. They were loaded with cilantro which made them fresh tasting. They have a kids menu which includes chicken fingers and smiley fries which made my daughter happy. Service was not great (Saturday night). I wanted another drink but server never came back before bringing the check. They make guacamole table side so you know it’s fresh, but I didn’t order it this time. It is probably best Mexican downtown but if you want best authentic Mexican in area then Flacos Tacos in Pooler is better (albeit a small takeout place without real seating).

Loved their salsa! The place was so cute and right off broughton. All my food was great. Nice place to relax and eat and get back to shopping.

This was a great eating experience. Located just a few off blocks off Bay St. and obviously a local fave. Food, drinks and service were all great. Considered to be a Margarita Snob, the wife gave this place two thumbs up
Tequila’s Town Mexican Restaurant is definitely the best Mexican food in town. The service is good and the food arrives fast every time. Most of the time it’s extremely loud and a lot going on. They also make guacamole table side.
Authentic Mexican and a Foodie hangout. The Mexican food at Tequila’s is excellent as is the service, but assume a small wait when you go because it gets crowded especially with patrons who wait at the bar. Each time we’ve been, the crowd has been an array of ’20-50 something foodies’, people who appreciate really good food even if it’s coupled with a little jostling, and a lot of noise.
