The Grey is the perfect Savannah establishment. Its great for visitors and for locals. Its located in an old Greyhound bus station and has a real 20s vibe. The food is a treat for any foodie. They have an upstairs private room for groups of 10-20 people and a downstairs private room that seats a smaller group by the wine cellar. Definitely recommend reserving this for groups (no extra charge). Its actually only option for groups over 6-8. We tried the Foie & Grits for the appetizer. Grits are the foundation and where super creamy, with cheese and savory undertones. The Foie Gras was the showcase and was phenomenal. My wife and I shared the appetizer, single entree and a vegetable side which was perfect amount of food. We ordered the crispy trout which was super delicious and the crispy fish skin provided excellent texture. We ordered the country pasta which tasted fresh, house-made with rich cream flavor and seasoned with pieces of delicious smoked ham/pork. They gave us a complimentary puffed pastry filled with white cheddar which was a delightful surprise, as well as a complimentary lemon fruit sweet that was a perfect end to dinner. Wine list was most excellent and very extensive. However still serve many good wines by glass including a flight. Small place so highly recommend reservations if visiting on the weekend.
I agree with one other reviewer, I don’t understand the low score. Our table ordered 3 platters of Washington State raw oysters. They were fabulous! On the small side, but I don’t like huge raw oysters. My beet salad, with a creamy yogurt dressing, was delish!! I do wish it had been a bit more. My entree, roasted deboned free range chicken, was tender, moist on the inside with a crispy skin outside. It was served on a bed of mashed potatoes. Additionally, it was also plated with cabbage. It was filling and plentiful. Wonderful venue in this old restored Greyhound bus station.
