We sat outside on the deck and the view was great. The food was good, but a little overpriced. I had the Shrimp Po’boy with grits. Everything was good with good service.
The food here was pretty good. The restaurant wasn’t busy when we arrived. We walked right in and sat down, however, it took a while for a food and we didn’t order anything complicated. The fried green tomatoes were okay.. Probably wouldn’t order them again. Everyone’s food looked delicious and the catch of the day surprisingly came with quite a bit of food. The funky chicken was really good. I got the hot sauce on the side because I’m not a big fan of spicy (glad I did) but I would definitely order it again!
Great view, best crab soup in Savannah. The only place we visited twice. on the river, great view, great staff, good food. the crab stew was so good we had to go twice.
Shrimp And Grits. Awful
We have only been to the tubby’s in thunderbolt and that one is good. But we had visitors from out of town and were already down at river st so we gave this one a try. I was skeptical because all the other place to eat down there are more for tourist and a waste on money. This place surprised me and was really good. The service was great as well.
Probably better if you sit on the deck. I really expected more, but Tubby’s was simply OK. The interior of the restaurant is somewhat cramped, but nice enough. The historical building provides an interesting atmosphere. You will have a better experience if sitting out on the deck since you can watch the River Street activities.The food served was OK enough, but a little more expensive than what it should have cost considering the quality. However, one must expect to pay a little more on River Street.Our waiter was nice enough when he could be found, but seemed to be more interested in his buddies somewhere in the back room. We really tried to like Tubby’s, but will probably not go back for a while.
In Savannah for work. Came here on a recommendation. For appetizer I got calamari. It was ok, bad part was that the banana peppers are fried in the same batter and you can barely tell the difference between the two and the sauce that came with it, wasn’t that good. For dinner I got the fried shrimp dinner, their special batter wasn’t very special, fries were soggy and salty. Cocktail sauce sucked!! Did I mention the service is slow. Won’t be back!!
