Went there for lunch and found typical Americanized Chinese menu that you could find in most other strip shopping centers. Uninspired, and certainly not worth a trip out of your way. Those who love this place can have my seat.

House of Yum. We stopped here around 9pm because we were craving some authentic Chinese and we got it! While it is a nice and quiet atmosphere we were not very quiet, or at least I wasn’t. We had come from a convention and I was still super excited. My friend and I were actually there in maid outfits while my sister and her friend were dressed normally. Apparently I was sort of loud, (my friends said so) though I was oblivious to this. High off of the convention and seeing my sister (which I don’t get to do very often) I talked non-stop. (Might be why I lost my voice the next day). We were taking pictures of ourselves and being all sorts of obnoxious. They brought the food out super quick and all of it was amazing! I’ve never had duck sauce I actually liked. The tea was really good too. I couldn’t get enough. (both the duck sauce with chips and tea was complimentary). They took good care of us and came back to check on us every 5 or so minutes. I got something called almond chicken which contained chicken, almonds, and mixed vegetables. It was very mild and different and I loved it. If you can’t handle spicy, that’s the item to pick. My friend got sesame chicken which was amazing and my sister’s general (tzao?) chicken was spicy and incredible. It was far too much to eat and we probably should have only ordered two plates of food. They had to bring out another table because we had so much. I felt like royalty at a grand feast. We were going back to the convention so I had the gall to ask if I could get two bags of ice for our plates and they actually did give us two plates with ice to carryout! While we were getting out of the booth I dropped my phone which had been in my lap. My sister was going to crawl underneath it and get it but our server insisted that he would get it for us and he did much quicker than it would have taken my sis. He was great, the food was great, and the service was great.

No more for me, thanks.. Was charged dinner prices at lunch for starts.Didn’t enjoy the trophy decor, if you won awards in ’94, great for you. now work on keeping up the food.I have never tasted any kind of sugar laden fried cashew chicken in my life, cashew chicken I’ve had has typically not been fried either. I love sweet but the sweetness of the chicken, that it seems it was rolled in sugar before fried was overpowering. My friend’s house fried rice was fine, but I will not be dining here for the expense or the sugary coated meal that I almost choked back up when it wasn’t priced as the menu stated.

Best in Cobb County. This place is simply the best americanized chinese restaurant in the Marietta area. I have never been dissapointed here. I wish it were closer to my office.

Ask for Empress Chicken. I get the #10 spicy because I’m a heat freak. I hit them up for lunch during the week and it never ever gets old. I don’t know what would happen if they unshackled the dragon from in back. I am surprised this has not expanded or franchised over the last 20 years. We’ll drive an hour just to eat at House of Chan.

Always Consistent. This place has been a mainstay in Cobb County for over 20 years. Always great! Very nice polite folks. Where to start. I’ve never had a bad dish.

The place to go for Chinese food. Great food tast, large portions, friendly staff make this a restaurant worth revisiting on a regular basis. The only problem is that if you don’t come early, you may find yourself waiting for a seat.
