Worst wings ever. I have been thinking for two weeks if I should write this review. Coming home late from work Saturday night I decided to try the JR Crickets in Smyrna. Years ago I would visit the location across from The Varsity and it was great. When I pulled in the lot was full which I thought was a good sign and the restaurant was packed. I had no problem placing my order and enjoyed a beer while I waited. Like I said the restaurant was packed so I know it would take a little while. When my order was ready I even commented to a guy that I had never been there before and I hoped the wings were good. He went on and on that they were the best and he ate here every time he visited Atlanta. I was so disappointed when I sat down at home. The wings smelled very weird and tasted terrible. I was starving and forced myself to eat 10 or so before I gave up. If it had not been 10pm I would have taken them back. I will never darken the doors of this place again.
Clean kitchen. I have been in the restaurant business as a bartender, server and manager for 15 years and most recently until a month ago as a server there at JR Crickets. I am in Detroit MI now. I take offense to what must have been a bitter former employee making accusations of health issues in the kitchen. I would not take my time to write if I was not strongly upset my those comments. This was probably the cleanest kitchen I have been in. And according to the Health Dept.’s poster on the front door they concur. I have eaten there many times and would not hesitate to eat there again.
Buffalo Wings. Best I’ve had in a very long time. Not too fatty, not too small, not fried too hard, perfect!17 Jul, 2011Fried fish. The fried fish is sooooo good here! A must have!
GREAT PLACE TO EAT. I don’t know what the others were saying about this SPORTS BAR……….but it is very clean and very nice for a small sports bar. Cleanest in the SMYRNA area.I host my spades tournaments here on the first Thursdays of the month, so I’ve been there quite a few times and have seen EVERYTHING>Friendly staff as well
Get A New Manager. My friend and I visit the Jr. Crickets smyrna location a week ago because we heard so many thing about this location….just to find out the service and the food were both excellent but the manager SUCKS!!!My drink was not of my liking and I simply asked to get another one …..he said I would be charged for something I didnt drink! He was flirting the entire with the ladies that was there: including me! When I asked a server who he was they said he is the owner! So ladies if you go to the Smyrna location pleasedo not return anything …..!!!
Be Cautious. Cross contaminated food. The cooks will cut up raw fish, wipe off the cutting board with a towel and then make you a tasy club right on the same board. The wings are pre-cooked and left hanging in a fryer basket over the fryer until you are ready to order some- i am talking hours. That would expain why I have gotten mini wings. Watch out tof the fries, their fabulous back line likes to reheat old fries to save money.
Ayana. Hahahaha….good food and good sercice i would really recommend this restaurant
