As I was waiting to placed an order, the hostess was on the phone, probably taking a phone order. The manager walked by with a tv remote in her hand trying to adjust the tv (channel, volume…who knows). She looked right at me and did not say a word. I must’ve wore my invisible suit today. I was expecting to hear, Welcome to Crafty Hog! After the hostess got off the phone, I was greeted. I ordered a Crafty Nacho that comes tortilla chips, smoked gouda queso with shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, black olives, sour cream, jalapenos and added a chopped brisket for $4. Something was telling me to check my order before I leave, and I was glad I did. I received a bag of chips that was filled a quarter of the way, a small container of queso, and same size container of brisket for $13 & some odd change. I immediately went back in and asked for rest of the items. The extra $4 for brisket is not worth the money, too little portion for $4. They don’t have to worry about getting my business again. Subpar customer service & food.

Don’t care what anyone else says, we enjoyed our meal and will go back again. My husband and I wanted to try Crafty Hog, the newest BBQ joint in our town. I read the reviews on-line, which were mixed, with a majority of not so good to lousy. But ever the optimist my Hubby & I said, what the heck, let’s decide for ourselves. Soooo glad we did! We went about 5:00 pm on a Saturday and it was quiet, no wait for a table. Stevie was both hostess and our server. She took good care of us, checking on us but not so often as to be annoying.I had 1/2 rack of ribs with a generous side of deep south GOOD sauce (reminded me of sweet baby ray’s but a little thicker), fried Brussels sprouts with candied bacon and apple coleslaw (light on apple, but great fresh light flavor). We started off with salads, knowing there wasn’t much fiber in our main dishes. Stevie, when asked, was happy to get us half servings of salads, and charged 1/2 the menu price for them (seemed fair to us). My ribs were perfectly cooked: no tug, came cleanly off the bone, meat was still moist but not fatty, and not too heavily sauced, so I could taste the meat flavor. The Brussels were divine! Never had them deep fried before, but you can bet I’m gonna have them again. Just a hint of the expected sulfur veggie taste but covered in crunch with a hint of sweet from the candied bacon. THAT is how to get someone to eat their veggies (and probably gain a little weight, but hey, we were eating BBQ style food, calorie counting was left at the door!)My Hubby had the chopped pork, green beans and fries. The fries were cooked right, and looked to be from real potatoes, no frozen, powdery stuff there. The green beans were labeled as garlic green beans, but the garlic was not apparent int he flavor. His chopped pork was good, but he felt it might have been about the same to just get the sandwich and ditch half the bread. We both agreed the service and food were good, and it was a good value for the price, as good BBQ has never, in our experience been cheap. For 2 drinks, 2 half salads, 2 entrees with all the fixin’s we spent about $40, and had a very nice meal experience. Not a fancy place, and I’m not a beer drinker so cant speak to that part of the menu. Lots of TVs to watch sports, booth was comfortable. Folks were coming in pretty steadily as we were finishing up, so maybe there would be a little wait if you get there at the height of the dinner hour. I think the wait would be worth it. We’ll be back to try other menu items, I know. Maybe it’s a different experience when they are really busy, but I can only judge by my experience. And no, I don’t work there, and yes, I most assuredly have taste-buds that work just fine. Try this place when they are not in the middle of a mealtime rush, bet your food is as good as mine was.

Sminnings Hipster. Absolutely horrible food, horrible service, this place needs to be bulldozed to the ground along with the rest of South Cobb Drive. Just a god awful place. Stay away unless you want indigestion and horrible service.

Must improve bbq and service. I think that says it all.

Despite the first review we have tried the assortment after and each item was delicious! The southern sauce is sweet but there are other options if you prefer a totally different taste. The ribs were the best I’ve had and the wings – omg – so good. I look forward to a return to try the nachos – an interesting twist on one of my favorites.17 Jan, 2015A Smyrna tradition transitions without missing a beat.
