Their Victory Pie’s outstanding. I was at Dobbins Air Reserve Base for some training and drove by this place a few times before finally stopping for dinner on my last night in Georgia. The server greeted me promptly and I decided to sit at the bar. The bartender presented me with a list of microbrews and I chose the Clown Shoes Tramp Stamp Belgian IPA on his advice. I was surprised by the taste given my lack of preference for IPA or EPA’s. For dinner, I ordered a bowl of minestrone & their signature award winning victory pie. The soup was served piping hot with fresh spinach leaves spoking out from the center. All it needed was a little pepper and some fresh Parmesan cheese and the taste was superb. The pizza arrived and it looked fantastic. The first bite reinforced my decision to order this pie. The flavor was unique and the crust was comparable to Neapolitan ovens in terms of crispness. Final thoughts: Great microbrew selection. Fantastic menu and slightly above average prices but worth it for the quality, service and ambiance.
Great patio & pizza. I had the calzone and bf had the pizza. He said it was the best pizza he has had in a long time. I thought the calzone was great too. The patio was perfect for outdoor dining. We will be returning soon.
The Patio is Awesome!. Okay, lets just say I am a patio junkie…. And this one is awesome. There is even a separate bar outside on the patio, where I found Matt. Very attentive and made the recommendation of the Victory Pizza. Well, I couldn’t finish it, but I found it to be incredible. I have been here before, but the continuous great service and food(particuraly the Pizza) keep me coming back…..
A solid B-. But dont worry, most pizza places OTP, that are chains, get a C at best. The steamed oysters save them. Done well in garlic and white wine, with a generous portion, though this is kinda hard to mess up. The pizza, well, lets just say, the crust, was soggy, though i did order sausage, and there was an ample amount of grease. The atmosphere is decent, the food is middle of the road, but as a neighborhood joint, I can see the appeal.
Family-friendly neighborhood eatery, and sports-bar to boot. Zucca has been a family favorite for years now, and has a lot to offer both in terms of food and atmosphere. The menu features an assortment of pastas and pizzas, and also has a selection of salads and sandwiches. The pizzas are good, and the 42nd Street pie is a personal favorite (only for those with an obsession for garlic). Nice selection of draft beers, and a variety of food and beverage specials throughout the week. In addition to the main dining room (casual, booths and tables) there’s a non-smoking bar indoors, and a great patio seating area (brick walls, trellis overhead). Brunch on their patio is great, especially when the weather is nice (patio is not covered). Zucca has recently added individual flat panel TV’s to their booth seating indoors, and offers game day specials on food and drinks. The volume on the TV’s seems to be disabled in the main dining area, but we actually appreciated this – the family-friendly atmosphere was maintained, AND we were able to watch the game. The bar area has a number of TV’s, volume turned on for the ‘main’ game (typically Falcons). One downside to be aware of is that the adjacent restaurant (Tavern, same owners) physically shares rest rooms with Zucca, and a pass-through hall at the back of the Zucca bar area frequently allows cigarette smoke to flow through – not so welcome as you’re about to bite into your meal. If this is an issue, sit towards the front.
In the stylish Smyrna town center, Zucca is good pick for those who are looking for modern dining and good food. Nothing amazing, but still pretty good.
A Definite Favorite!. We love Zucca Bar! We visit quite often, and they always give us a happy greeting! Their drinks are generous and their food is authentic Italian! In warm weather, they open the outside patio and it fills with patrons, especially in the late afternoons and evenings. Our favorite thing about Zucca: It is Non-Smoking (as opposed to sister-bar Vintage Tavern). We can enjoy the smell and taste of our food and drinks! Keep on doing what you’re doing, because it is the best at Smyrna Market Village!
