Worst service ever. I just left this place and spent almost $32 on a plate of oxtails, One piece of dried up fish, 1 beef pattie and 3 sodas and received the worst service ever by this young lady that has to be a family member because that’s the only reasoning for her employment. This young lady had the audacity to approach me as I am sitting eating at the table , and told me I could not eat out of my to go carton because it didn’t look good . I asked her for signage prohibiting me from eating after I just purchased the food, she said there wasn’t one and I should leave if I’m eating from the carton as she asked me earlier if it was a eat in or go order? I will NEVER give this place any of my money again!
Love this place overall. I moved to this area in December 2014 and looked for a caribbean spot. the first time i went about an hour before their posted closing hours but they had locked the doors and were not serving any new customers. Since then I have gone back maybe twice a month. All of the food is generally well prepared. Occasionally the rice and plantains do not taste fresh. I have found that timing is important. If you go too early it tastes like yesterdays leftovers and if you go too late its whats leftover for the day and what you want may not be available. the staff are always friendly and we will continue to get take out there.
Horrible Customer Service makes you feel like the good food is served on a garbage can lid!. I AM SO DONE WITH THIS PLACE!!! I have been coming to this place for years and the service has always been horrible. It’s a shot in the dark on whether they will have food before they closed. On one occasion, I ordered a pan of curry chicken and rice and peas for my graduation only for the food not to be ready when I arrived to pick it up. The place always runs out of food before they close to the point that they have changed the hours on their door from 10 to 8-ish. Either cook enough food for the hours you are open or advertise an earlier closing time. For me, tonight was the nail in the coffin. I called in my order in advance, went to pick it up and the girl forgot to fixed my order;but guess what? They were out of rice and they could not fulfill my order. The staff seem unapologetic about making a mistake. As I walked out, they locked the door because they ran out of food at 7:35!!!! The most frustrating thing about Ionie’s is that she has a great product, but if she does not change her staff and better manage her restaurant, she going to lose customers. She lost one tonight.
Awesome Food.. This place was by far the best Caribbean food I have had in a long time. Jerk chicken was amazing and spicy. I would recommend this place to everyone who loves Caribbean food. Staff is very friendly.
Customer service. I must say after being a loyal customer from the time they have been open the service is bad with all those young folks she has there, I know for a fact when her sister was there services was very good, I don’t know why is reason she is no longer there but its a tragedy since shes gone, I was there 2weeks ago and I wouldn’t be back until she does something about these young girls in the front the red skin little girl needs to go, they need to learn how serve food.
FOOD LOVER. There are no adjectives to describe how incredible the oxtails, curry chicken and mac & cheese taste. My co-worker and I love it and I absolutely think the young lady who helped me, Shytesa was beyond professional. She patiently answerred all my food questions and even laughed at some of my jokes. Great personality along with great food — there are no words!!!! See you again real soon!
Best Jamaican Food I’ve Had!. The food looked so fresh and appetizing, that it was hard for me to choose. We ordered to go. The food presentation was beautiful – better than any I’ve seen. All the dishes were garnished with fresh veggies on top. It was my first time visiting, so Ionie, the friendly owner, let me sample the curry chicken, oxtails and pineapple chicken… they were all so tasty. That made my choice even harder, but finally, I decided on the oxtails. They were delicious! Altogether we ordered oxtails, curry goat, a side of jerk chicken mac & cheese and a slice of pineapple spice cake. Everything was AWESOME. We are new to the area and will definitely put this spot down as a go to. The bonus was that the place was spacious, nicely decorated and very clean… their restaurant score was 100.
