I’ve eaten here no less than 10 times, and the food and service are always amazing! The location/strip mall look is not so great, but don’t let that turn you away. Highly recommended!
Fantastic Crispy Beef . Loved this place and great service. Don’t let the strip mall location put you off.
Fantastic food and wonderful staff. Very helpful with menu and will accommodate changes or special diets. Love, love this place!!!!12 Mar, 2012Atmosphere and food is fantastic! Their staff is friendly and The Pad Thai (tofu) is great! They have a coconut cake that is huge and super delicious. Highly recommend!!
Great choice for a nice meal!. We went to Coconut Thai because we were traveling to Statesboro and wanted a restaurant with vegetarian options. We were so happy with our choice! It’s located in a pretty old shopping center so I was a bit concerned upon approach but all my fears were allayed once we got to the door! The hostess opened the door and ushered us in and revealed a dark, elegantly decorated dining room that was classy but very comfortable for those who prefer to dress casual as most of the patrons were. The menu is eclectic with plenty of Thai choices but more of a pan-asian feel. Our courteous and fun server let us know immediately that the kitchen was very accommodating of any requests such as substitutions or spice additions which really opened up the options even more. I went with Siam chicken with a kick of spice and I loved it! Really a treat! Perfectly spicy and sweet and the vegetables were obviously cooked in a very hot wok because they were hot but so fresh and crunchy. They snapped when I bit into them, Perfect! One note to vegetarians, however…many of the Thai dishes are prepared with fish sauce and so when it is made vegetarian the taste is altered somewhat. My girlfriend added a little extra salt to make up for the lack of fish sauce and enjoyed her meal as much as I did! Try them out!
Awesome food and service!. I ordered a vegan dish and my boyfriend ordered a carnivore dish… we were both very pleased with the quality, quantity, and value of our food! I was even more impressed with the service given to a family seated near us… I overheard them tell the waiter they were vegetarian AND allergic to gluten. The chef came out, talked with them a while, then brought their meals our for them himself. Their dishes looked great! All around, just a fantastic restaurant.
A delightful and colorful experience.. It saddens me that my favorite Japanese restaurant in Statesboro (Hachi’s) got replaced by Coconut. I was somewhat resentful, but I finally decided to give Cocunut a try.. And I loved it! My girlfriend had the Pineapple Fried Rice. It came in a pineapple shell, and it was some of the best fried rice I’ve ever had. As for me, I ordered the Swai Tacos. The tacos were more like pitas, but it did not detract from the taste. There was fresh fruit in the dish. The flavor combinations were great. We both left home happy… and with leftovers. You get plenty of food there. I’ll definitely come back to give their chocolate covered apples a try.
Harry/bettye tankersley. Food, drinks, atmosphere, service was all fantastic! highly recommend the salmon and the pineapple rice!
