Delicious pulled porch hash and best bread ever
Wonderful place, people, and premise. Which makes up for the somewhat mediocre food. It does, I promise.
After hearing nothing but praise about this bakery and cafe, I finally visited today. The menu was limited, but seemed to have good selections. My friend ordered the turkey sandwich and they were out of turkey (at noon on a Wednesday), so she had to make another selection because their were no meats that could substitute other than chicken sausage. She ordered the house salad with soup and I ordered the mozzarella, spinach, and tomato panini with a chewy bar. It took 23 minutes for our food to come out. When it did the portions were small compared to the prices. My panini was tasty, but soggy because of the fresh tomato. Her salad was good, but the homemade dressing was mostly olive oil. The chewy bar’s taste was accurate, but the product was dried out. She told me the most memorable part of the meal was the croutons. I have to agree that the bread was good. Not sure that I’ll be back. And I definitely can’t recommend this cafe to others.
Best bakery in town…. They made a dozen red velvet cupcakes for my birthday on the 10th when they had to make a bunch of them for valentines day, and they did it the day of 🙂 i was so happy with my cupcakes.
A bakery has the best pizza in the boro?!. Sugar Magnolia has become a staple for me in Statesboro. The food is affordable, what what sold me was the fresh pizzas that they have on Thursday and Friday nights. They have a homemade pepperoni pizza and spinach pizza every week, but they also have weekly specials that are delectable. If you’re going for bread, I recommend the sourdough and the olive bread. A great spot for the health nuts and anyone that likes good, fresh food.
