Really?. Ordered the Low Country Boil – really an extremely simple dish to make. Their version is $18 bucks, which is way over market for this dish in Savannah. The shrimp was the $4 pound smalls – more work, less meat – and it was severely overdone, which makes it extremely difficult to peel – lots and lots of shrimp sticking to shell. The shrimp also was not deveined, which you HAVE do do with small shrimp – otherwise you get a mouthful of shrimp feces. The potatoes were almost raw. The sausage was also severely overdone. $25 bucks with tip. Ever get the feeling you’ve been cheated? I did.

I will always remember it as the best crab I have ever eaten. I plan on returning to Desposito’s the next time I visit Savannah.

Seafood Restaurant???? not really. POOR EXCUSE!!!I should have known when the server suggested the crab legs as it is one of their specialties. Why would a seafood restaurant ON THE GEORGIA COAST specialize in a crab caught thousands of miles away from here months ago???Menu: shrimp. low country platter. steamed oysters. deviled crab. and blue crab (they were out). Snow crab. That’s it! scallops? no. clams? no. FISH? no. mussels? no. lobster? no. crawdads? no. ANYTHING ELSE? no.I ordered 1/2 pound of shrimp and 1/2 pound of crab legs. I received 1 cluster of crab legs and about a dozen baby shrimp both over cooked without any kind of spice besides salt in the water. my bill 22 bucks. Really? I just ate 7 dollars worth of food. They want 18.50 a pound for their shrimp. lol.
Mediocre food in a musty dive for a little too much…like Carmelo, this place is a one and done for me.
THE WORST. I ordered the Low Country Boil basket. The shrimp was absolutely the worst. Not only was it impossible to peel, but it was incredibly over cooked. We asked our server if there was something that could be done about the shrimp and were told she would ask the owner. After 10 minutes of wondering what was going to happen the irate owner came stomping in our direction ( with balled fists and a snarl ) and promptly demanded that we accompany him to the kitchen for a lesson in cooking. Then we were told that : the shrimp that he ordered was frozen and that everyone had to endure the awful shrimp because that was all he had. After telling us that all he had was crappy shrimp, he proceeded to tell our group of 5 ( including 3 locals ) that he has been cooking shrimp for 28 years and we didn’t know how to cook shrimp and there was no way he over cooked them. The best that he could do was to take off the market value of fresh shrimp off of our bills. ( in the establishment it was a total of 10$ per meal ). I will NEVER go there again and will discourage anyone I know from ever going there.
A small location with big flavor. Make sure to try the crab legs or the low country boil.
