Whole Foods Market Cafe. Once again, the Yule holiday rolls around. For 2013, my partner and I flew into Savannah to celebrate with my family. This has given us the opportunity to review some new-to-us restaurants, as well as enjoy again (and review) a few from my younger days when I was growing on Wilmington, Whitemarsh, and Tybee Islands, as well as Savannah. The Savannah Whole Foods Market was constructed after I had moved away to attend university, so all of this is completely new to me. I remember the old Backus Cadillac car dealership was here before. This whole area has drastically changed, for the better, I admit.Being a regular breakfast buffet diner at the Whole Foods Caf in San Antonio (Quarry), as has become our routine, my partner and I usually dine from the buffet before shopping. So we continued the ritual here in the Savannah store before grocery shopping. We also introduced my brother to the absolute total goodness that is Whole Foods (based in Texas my adopted state). I did notice that the buffet here is 50 cents cheaper than in San Antonio. The quality of food here is basically the same, but the grits in Savannah are definitely better than any I have had lately. Maybe the sausage patties are a tad spicier, as per my partner. The drinks bar here is extensive as to which I am accustomed, and the basics are covered. My favorites are here, so all is well. The seating area here is amazing! I love the table designs that have old car tire rims as the base. There is such a bright and cheerful atmosphere here. Also, you simply have gotta love breakfast with 80s classic festive holiday music such as Christmas Wrapping by the Waitresses, along with Last Christmas by Wham! blaring at a high volume to put you into the holiday grocery shopping spirit. Yay!

Excellent dining before shopping!. Dining here with the Whole Foods Caf in the Victory Station shopping center is a great way to relax and get your act together before your grocery shopping experience. There is a really good buffet where you can choose from healthy foods and pay by the pound (currently $8.49). You can prepare a regular plate, or a covered one to go.I enjoy all the healthy breakfast options offered. They have very good grits and some really spicy sausage patties. You must sample the scrambled egg dishes, as well as the fruit bar. If you are a bacon fan, you will be in heaven.Remember to stop by the adjacent drinks bar for coffee, tea, or juices before going to the register to have your plate weighed. The chai tea is excellent here, as is the Allegro coffee. The dining area is bright and cheerful. Cozy butcher block-style tables are mounted atop actual car tire rim bases, which are historic reminders of when this location was Backus Cadillac. There is a bar and stool area where you can sit and view the parking lot and Victory Drive, as well as a bar and stool location with electrical outlets for charging your electronic devices.Restrooms are conveniently located in the caf area. There are also helpful recycling bins for when you are finished with your meal.
