We lived in Decatur, which has fabulous restaurants where we can eat; however, we had the opportunity to make our way out to the burbs to have dinner with some friends. It has been a long time since we have been there, but all-in-all, I remember it as being good all American food, cooked well, and it had a nice atmosphere. It seemed quite enough that we could have good conversation, which was nice. Some many places are just too loud to talk.I don’t know that I would go out of my way to go there, but if ever in the area, I would be happy to try it again. theglobetrotterfoodie.wordpress.com

I’ve been looking forward to eating here for a long while, having made a reservation weeks ago, as required, and was unfortunately left quite disappointed. The tomato soup was good, but not very hot. I ordered the pork chop, which was not seasoned at all and the white beans as a side were not cooked and therefore very hard. My wife’s steak was good however. I describe the meal as average but certainly not worth the price tag. It seems it may have been an off night, but given all of the amazing restaurants in the area, a few being a half mile up the road, I likely won’t return.

I went there once and the food was great but they don’t allow you to change the menu. I have food restrictions so I was not able to eat any of the meals and just settled on one and ate the meat. However the smoked salmon appetizer was amazing and I don’t even like goat cheese! Also the chocolate dessert and popcorn ice cream was great.

Canoe and a ViewWhat more is there to say about such a popular and well-reviewed restaurant? This is a restaurant run by professionals. They manage every aspect properly, from service to setting to food. All is thoughtful and so well done. The setting on the Chattahoochee River is beautiful. Go when you can sit outside or at least when you can see the view.

Spent my boyfriends birthday celebration at Canoe and it was beyond fantastic. The wait staff was very nice, helpful and took care of you extremely well. The attention to detail they showed wasn’t like I had ever seen before. The food was to die for. I literally wanted to eat forever. Definitely going back to try everything on the menu.

Great spot by the river, with a bar right on the rivers edge outside. Great service. Ask for a table with a view. Desserts were the best. Game themed menu.

All of the food was amazing! My favorite was the smoked salmon appetizer, Vidalia onion soup, and my cod entree. The cod was one of the best fish dishes I have ever had. The restaurant is in a beautiful setting on the chatahoochee river and our window seat gave a great view. Menu is ever changing and they have very southern gourmet options… Some menu items include rabbit, quail, and even kangaroo. We skipped desert and went down to the outside bar by the river for drinks. It’s fun to hang out but, word to the wise, make sure you have bug spray!! I left there covered in mosquito bites. I should have known better, but it didn’t even cross my mind. Some citronella candles to help would have had my review at 5 stars!
