A Spontaneous Surprise!. So I just needed to run to the Vitamin Shoppe next door and as I walked out, I saw Pinkberry and on a spontaneous and curious whim I decided to check it out. Those are some of the best culinary times, I hadn’t heard of Pinkberry until then. They serve good quality frozen yogurt concoctions either as is or with toppings. The best part is that it is a flat rate for toppings except for 3 premium toppings which are $.50 each. They currently have 6 flavors available, original – Very tart and was not a fan, Coconut – taste just like original flavor just with coconut finish, a little better but not that much, Gingerbread – Too strong for me, as in one bite and you want water to cleanse palate immediately and eating it becomes a chore, Pomegranate – Tasty, actually not to tart, yet you get that note you expect from the fruit but met with a balancing sweet creaminess, Mango – Delicious, sweet and refreshing, & Chocolate Hazelnut – The best one so far, taste great and balanced just right. So after the very polite staff let me sample all 6, I decided to go with a mini size Chocolate hazelnut, and for the up charge of like a $1 and some change, I got to add as many toppings as they could fit onto the cup with no limit (That’s how the toppings work! Love it!). SO I added brownie pieces, cookies n cream crumbs, chocolate sticks and toasted hazelnuts. It was so good, I will be a repeat customer just to repeat that combination. They also have visible the calories for each respective topping. In addition to the crisp and Clean presentation of it all, the health awareness brings the treat up a notch. I’m so glad I went with my curiosity and tried this place.

Pretty good froyo, but expensive. Pinkberry is the best of the frozen yogurt places I’ve tried thus far in the froyo trend, but I think it’s overpriced for the amount of yogurt you get. The mango is very good without any toppings, but when you compare this to what you get at Bruster’s for the same amount of money, I can’t say that I feel it’s a good value. Still, if I had a friend visiting from out of town who wanted high quality frozen yogurt, I’d probably suggest Pinkberry. The staff at this location is nice, and is always very kind about offering bags of ice to keep the yogurt cold when transporting it. It’s a quality product and the place is always clean, but you’re paying quite a premium for boutique frozen yogurt.
