THIS is how you do fine dining in the South. My family and I recently went here to celebrate a birthday. Oh my gosh, were we in for such a fantastic treat! With such a breathtaking drive to Mountain Cove Grill, beautiful landscape at every turn through God’s country, I should have known it was going to be a great evening. When we arrived it definitely felt like a destination dining experience. We arrived just before sunset, so we got to catch a glimpse of the glorious colors cascading across the mountain. Once inside the restaurant, I was greeted by a friendly host and rustic-chic decor. I started with the Ahi tartare, which is cubed and combined with a creamy ginger aioli, very tasty. For my main course I chose the Snapper, which was pan-seared to a buttery crisp perfection. I couldn’t turn down dessert, creme brulee with classic caramelized sugar and silky vanilla custard underneath. All in all, a delicious and beautiful place to spend a Saturday night. I will definitely be back when it warms up, and I can take my Pinot Noir outside to cozy up to the fire pit and listen to their live music.
