We had the shrimp and grits wontons for our appetizer. It was okay. The chicken and waffles were AMAZING. We also had a pork dish that was delicious. Our waitress was great and the venue is very cool. We will for sure be back.
Yes, yes, yes. All the yeses. The drinks are awesome, service was great, and the food was absolutely amazing. Location, atmosphere, overall experience- all perfect.
Stopped by Freight Kitchen & Tap for lunch, and was quickly sat at a table towards the back. After looking over the menu I ordered The Conductor burger with the snap beans & andouille. Let me start by saying that my burger was cooked perfect! It’s seemingly rare to get a burger cooked the way you ask and they delivered! The beans were delicious just like the burger, did I mention their home made pimento? No? Well it was super creamy and only added to the burgers taste. I will certainly be back to try a few others.
This was simply a wonderful dining experience. There was never a moment that wasn’t perfect. The drinks were heavenly and the food devine and dessert was awesome. It was so fresh it felt like a dinner with friends or server kelsey was amazing and apparently is one of thier best. This is a must see place.
Great food, awesome atmosphere but charge people $2 for tap water… I’m sorry it’s tonic water. And there’s no kids menu but they can make a kids meal, you just get a surprise bill. Didn’t expect to pay $7.00 for kids meal plus the $2 drink
My friend and I went to Freight last night for dinner and had an alright experience until about 8:30 when the waitress came up to our table and told us that they were closing early and asked if she could get us anything else. Keep in mind that they close at 10 pm on week nights. I get that we were the only customers left at that point (the last table was on their way out), but it was still kind of rude. We were still finishing our drinks and talking, and from that point on we felt rushed. I used to be a hostess and a server, and I always felt it was a huge no-no to pressure customers into hurrying up because you wanted to go home. I mean, it’s 8:30 for crying out loud. You’re technically supposed to be open for another hour and a half. By the time we finished at 9, the music was turned off, they had already finished counting down the registers, all the staff had their coats on, and no one said a word to us as we walked out the door, even though about 3 of them were standing around. Very rude staff, definitely will not come back.
I felt like I was on an episode of Jon Taffer Bar Rescue, but in a crowded restaurant. The hostesses had no idea what they were doing. After being told there was a 15 minute wait, they didnt even take my down my partys name & there were a lot of people waiting. I said dont you need my name & they were like oh yeah, that would be good. They pulled out a napkin & added our name to it, after first taking down the partys information that walked in right behind us. Their system was flawed & unprofessional to say the least. We should have left at that point, but we didnt. The bartenders took at least 15 minutes to acknowledge us & our cocktails were not great tasting or very strong. The bathroom was gross, but we were there during their dinner rush, so I will let that one slide. We got seated upstairs in the loft area. The table was so dark that I had to use my iPhone flashlight to read the menu. The restaurants heat was blazing to the point that our cold friend was uncomfortably hot. The food we ordered was good & the portions were large but I couldnt get over the pretentious ambience of the place. I kept waiting for Jon Taffer to come in & go off on everyone in the restaurant. There is a lot of potential at this place because of the food, but the restaurant needs some serious training & management improvement. All the same, I wont be going back. There are too many other good places out there to waste my time on this place. Oh yeah, trying to park for this restaurant was a nightmare, but it is that same way for all of the restaurants in that downtown area. Lastly, their menu was not very friendly towards gluten-free individuals.
