Overrated. I tried Gogi twice, both times at the Eat the Street event and it was OK. Not worth waiting in the two hour line for. I wasn’t one of those who waited in line for two hours, as I lined up before they opened each time. First time I waited 30 minutes after opening and second time was 15 minutes and both times I was maybe 10th in line? Only because I lined up 30 minutes prior to opening. Takes time to make the food, especially if the people in front puts down a big order. The first time I had the short rib taco, $3, and kim chee fries, $4. Loved the kim chee fries. Great flavor and I loved the pickled garlic, could have used a bit more sauce but it was good enough. The taco on the other hand left me unimpressed as the flavor was there but not something worth waiting so long for. The size is a bit small but that’s the size of a taco in mexico, not like what we find at our Taco Bell. The second time I went was after Japan’s earthquake crisis so they introduced a new item, the Japan Dog for $5. This was a hot dog inside a giant sweet bun with yakisoba on top which was mixed with pickled ginger, furikake, and bonito flakes. There is green onion too but I asked for no green onion in mine. The flavor was pretty good and the combination of hot dog and yakisoba was surprisingly good. When I saw that there was pickled ginger in it, you know the pink kind, when I saw the list of ingredients I tried to order it without it but it was already mixed into the yakisoba but I couldn’t taste it, which was good for me as I don’t like ginger. I had the kim chee fries again and they seem to have put more sauce on it which was good. Overall, I like my second trip better. I give a three star review only because their signature taco just wasn’t impressive but the kim chee fries and Japan Dog were to my liking, though not 2 hour waiting in line to my liking. I’m not holding the line against them as it was a popular event.Btw, I thought it was funny how they would shake the truck from the inside every time someone donated money towards Japan and would play a siren noise from a megaphone at the same time.
