Best food I’ve ever had. I never take the time to review any restaurant but I had to for green vines. This is the best place I have ever eaten. I would come back to Honolulu specifically to eat here. I visited thier booth at the farmer’s market and just had to check out thier restaurant after and I’m glad I did. I had a kona coffee with fresh almond milk, the sampler chips and dips and the living lasagne. All amazing. I will be back for more before I leave Oahu and will come back here just for the food! Please open a location in Maui!
Deliciousness wrapped in zucchini noodles! All our meals were just divine. The desserts were especially delightful for our 8yo. Don’t be deceived by the portion sizes…..you will leave stuffed full of goodness!
This place is phenomenal! Who knew that raw vegetables could ever taste so good! I tried the zucchini and lemon bisque, the living layered lasagna (where there is no pasta whatsoever; only layered vegetables), the zucchini fettuccine (where there is no pasta) and the kelp pad Thai. The food was all amazing (the pad Thai was the weakest dish of what I tried but still very good). Through my searches, I have only encountered one other vegetarian restaurant that I would consider even in the same league (in Vancouver) but it wasn’t raw. Greens and vines only serves raw food. I believe that the chef, Sylvia is a genius!
We came to Greens and Vines all the way from Australia, and had planned to eat here months in advance as the online menu looked so awesome. We arrived at about 7pm on a Tuesday, which was obviously a very busy time for them! There were lots of staff on the floor, and all seemed quite friendly but we waited 25 minutes alone before we had to ask why our drinks hadn’t come yet (including table water) but they were immediately apologetic and gave them to us free of charge. The service from then on was really great, although I think we frightened them a bit! The food was absolutely amazing. Indescribable. Even my dad who doesn’t care much for all the ‘raw vegan hype’ was lost for words. So much flavour in everything! Well worth the wait. We had the trio of dips to share, which were all exquisite accompanied by delicious flax seed crackers and macho nachos. Dad had the living lasagna which was seriously incredible, just delicious. It seems the zucchini pasta is a favourite there. I had the veggie burger which was sensational – unlike any other veggie burger I’ve had before, and I’ve had my fair share! I especially liked the cashew mayo and the onion flatbread. Then, we decided after all these had been such a hit, we needed to sample all three of the desserts. The cacao tart was unbelievable, the chocolate taste was like an explosion, so rich and with a wonderful nutty texture on the bottom. The chocolate truffles were probably the least impressive thing (which says a lot, because they were really great!!) as they were a bit average in comparison to all the other dishes which blew us away. And lastly, we had the cheesecake which was mango and passionfruit flavoured. Just simply amazing. Creamy, light and fruity. Hoping to go back on a day when they have another flavour. Cannot recommend this place enough for both vegans and non-vegans. Drag everyone you know along because it’s an experience like no other. Suitable for locals or tourists, only a short bus ride or 30min walk from the hotels in Waikiki. You’ve just GOT to try this place!
Great Food!. We had googled vegan restaurants before our travel to Hawaii as they can be hard to find. Tunrs out this part of the world is full of great vegan options, but still, finding a place like this where you are free to order anything on the menu is a nice treat. We barely made it in before they closed for a mid-day siesta between 2 and 5pm and we’re glad we did, but beware they do close mid afternoon. The lasagna was loved by my wife in particular and I really liked their chocolate cake. My daugther loved the coconut chocolate truffles. It’s a nice clean, newer restaurant and a must visit for any visiting vegan. A little out of the way from the typical tourist spots, but a straight shot on the #13 city bus from the hotels in Waikiki.
Everything was great!!!! Awesome service and wonderful flavors on the raw. It was very filling and reasonably priced for such high quality nutritious food.
