Tango contemporary cafe. Room is modern, intimate yet airy. Service extremely responsive. Food a surprising disappointment. The beet and goat cheese salad for $9.75 was really just a big garnish. An entree of risotto, mushroom, asparagus and garlic shrimp had, for $20.00 no visual presentation and under-cooked shrimp in a gluey, salty, mac n’ cheese style risotto mix. Small pieces of mushroom and asparagus added as afterthoughts. I can do better at home with leftovers.
Another Great Sleeper…. This is a regular for us… we love the diversity of the dishes… great soups, salads, sandwiches, entrees…plus Friday Bar BQ at their sister location across the street…Aloha, Paul & Myrna

Pricey but good. As strange as it sounds, my first experience here has been take-out. So I can only comment on the food, and the service at ordering and pickup. This past Thursday night my mom and I decided to try something different for dinner. Thursdays are take-out night, and we have no compunction with ordering out from a traditional sit in style resturant. If anything, this is more of a test of the food and chef’s competence. We ordered 4 items:Portobello Mushroom & Crab Hash Napoleon with Spinach – The Roasted Garlic Cream, Red Wine Reduction really made this app. The spinich was cooked well but not chewey, even after the travel time.Hamakua Mushroom Risotto with Garlic Shrimp – The risotto was cooked well, again considering it was not just going from kitchen to table; the risotto was niether mushy nor chewey. The real suprise was the shrimp. Cooked just right so that by the time it got home it was still soft, tender, and juicy.Grilled Tenderloin of beef with Green Peppercorn Sauce – We were of differing opinions on this one, mainly the sauce. I liked it, she didn’t. The sauce managed to taste like peppercorn while having a slight sweetness to it. I ordered the tenderloin medium rare and it was perfect when I got it home. The potatoes were cooked to perfection. Could have used a little more veggies in this one though.Blueberry Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce – Very good. You could actually see the vanilla floating in the sauce. Sweet with a tart contrast of the berries. Probably would have been better hot out of the kitchen.Ordering over the phone was easy, didn’t have to repeat anything or worry that the person on the other end didn’t hear the order correctly. It took about 15 minutes to prepare everything, when I got there they were packaging it all up. They even provided bread and butter and staged the dishes as best as possible in the take out containers.I will definately go back. Price is sightly high, for a regular eat out, but the food in my opinion was worth it.07 Mar, 2010Pricey but worth it. As strange as it sounds, my first experience here has been take-out. Great seafood creative menu. Menu was great, quick service, very good seafood, the ahi was great. nice appearance of the offerings.
Overrated. Most dishes too salty. Space is too cramped and crowded.
