Average Thai food….food in general felt a little on the salty side. The Thai tea is good.

Bankok Chef Chain!. There popularity has driven them to open a new branch. Went there Sunday at lunch time…what a crowd! Food was good as it usually is,same price, a little better ambience than there Nuuanu and Manoa locations. It is near Home Depot and Best Buy just of Nimitz Hwy.04 Feb, 2010Cheap, good and large portions.. This isn’t best Thai in town, but certainly the best for the price and portions. We have been going here for around 5 years and go about once a month or more. Orders are cooked from scratch so everthing is fresh and they do a huge take out service so do be surprised if you order takes a while durning peak lunch and dinner hours.

This is the better of the two locations. Yummy, cheap, and large portions. Great for family-style dining and college student budgets.

CHEAP. Nothing spectacular, but it does the job when I’m yearning for Thai food and i’m low on funds. They do go a little overboard with the potatoes in their curries. But their menu is decent and varied. Can be very busy at lunch and plenty of people usually call in. Don’t be surprised to wait 15-20 minutes during lunch or dinner.

Good Food, Great Prices. We ate here twice. The first time we called in the order to go while we were in the car. With no menu in front of us, we just decided to order a green curry and a red curry. We ordered them as entrees, so they were each $5.70. You can also order a la carte and forgo the rice; then the charge is $7.25 and you get more of the dish. Since we already had rice at home, I might have done this instead if I had known. The food was so reasonably priced and so good that we stopped by again for lunch the next day. We ate at the restaurant that time. Since the door is like a big garage door, there is a lot of airflow and although the interior is very basic, it was very convenient and pleasant.

Food quality is high relative to prices, each order seems freshly prepared, thus the long wait after ordering (15 min. Avg), so plan on spending 20-30 Minutes to get food (usually there’s a line). Still, this hole in the wall converted garage Thai food place is the best in Honolulu when you consider bang for the buck. The long lines speaks for itself. Also, my Thai friends say it’s authentic Thai cuisine, so, Bon Apetit Hawaii!
