To be honest, we stumbled upon this stand after traversing through the inner functions of Chinatown. After dodging meat and fish markets, fruit and vegetable stands, and obscure wares, it was ‘exiting’ the market into the outside courtyard did we find this. This fruit stand can be located in the Maunakea Market Place. They serve a variety of bobas and, from the looks of it, often have sales to push out snacks and drinks. We decided to try the Taro Smoothie and found it tasting more like Filipino Ube (more so than Japanese Purple Yam Taro), but it was still tasty. My recommendation is have it on a decently hot, humid day to cool off and add some of their Boba Pearls – these tasted fresh and was a great accompaniment to the drink.
I tried their durian bubble tea and loved it. Their drinks are made from fresh fruit. The stand is small but they also offer some light snacks like steamed corn, bun beo, etc. They’re extremely busy though so expect a short wait for your drink.
