Lucky enough to have made friends with locals who took us to this amazing Ramen place! The vibe was super cool with either communal tables or bar seating & had a variety of options to select. What we ordered: Ramen – Belly, 2 x Ramen – Beast bowl & Ramen Fungi. What we can say, is we were impressed! The broth was out of this world, the meat / mushrooms were melting in the mouth and the serves were generous. If we had time, we would go back but perhaps when we return to Hawaii!

We arrived at 5:35 for a 6pm dinner reservation after confirming we could be early and seated. There were no tables available, and this immediately put us on edge. We couldn’t go anywhere as the cab just pulled away and the neighborhood was quite sketchy. Well, the manager/person in charge, Tiffany, was kind and professional and brought us all water and a complementary appetizer while we waited. Classy move. We got seated at about 5:55pm, and then the food-fest started. My family of 6 had seven different menu items, and one was better than the next. All in all, this was a great experience from start to finish.

Great place in Chinatown with yummy eats. I give.it a 4 bcus I wasn’t too keen on their ramen. Nothing special and overpriced for my taste. Their appetizers are the bomb though. I would come back for the bao and the dumplings. They are soooo tasty.

Propably the best ramen in my life, as well as nice variety of sake, soju and even japaneese whisky. The soup is so large, you can easily skip any appetizers. We were not aware of this, so experienced fantastic asian dumplings stuffed with meat. As mentioned above, ramen quality is just outstanding. I had a bowl with shrimps and kimchee, while others chose more classic versions. You need to be ready for half an hour of waiting, but after all there was not anyone to complain within our group. Skip coming here if you don’t have a reservation in advance. The place is always full of guests, apparently for a reason. I strongly dislike being bothered by homeless and drank people. This is what happened to us outside while we were waiting for a taxi, but Lucky Belly staff was again very helpful to us.

I’m addicted to ramen and baos. I think they’re my favourite food right now, so I’m glad I got a recommendation for Lucky Belly.Off the bat, the bao was great. Nice large chunks of tender and juicy pork belly in a soft doughy bun. The condiment of pickled cucumbers were also a good flavour to cut the pork and add a nice crunchy texture. Add on the sweet hoisin sauce on the side and it’s a fantastic dish. The ramens were definitely worth the visit. Great broth for the funghi ramen loaded with mushrooms like shitake, hon shimenji and maitake. Amazing textures with the soft and chewy mushrooms in the salty broth. For my money, I’ll go with the house special ramen, the belly bowl. If you love pork in ramen, this is where you get it. Pork belly, bacon and sausage – it’s all a bit excessive, but the meat is good and incredibly filling with the flavourful broth. This spot was definitely a satisfying stop during our trip. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for interesting ramen and other Japanese dishes in a relaxed, bar-like atmosphere.

Most def the hottest new kid on the hottest new kid on the block. If you like ramen, worth cking out. The gyozas are superb, not your traditional. The late nite week end window has got to be the best little secret in town. Guaranteed to satisfy!
