Came here a couple of times during my time in Honolulu. Tried the spicy chicken ramen and the special creamy pork one. The latter is very rich so if you get it I recommend you don’t get the tempura as well as you will feel sluggish later (definitely don’t do a hike after like I did!) Having said that the chicken tempura is juicy and delicious, as are the mushroom and croquettes. Don’t forget to try with the sweet sauces.
I reluctantly went here on our last night of our holiday, I was hanging for a steak or burger. There was a line 40-50 people deep. Line moved reasonable quick and we were probably waiting 20mins. But as soon as you order food it is ready within 2-3mins.I got Curry Udon, my girlfriend got Niku Udon, and a plate of Tempura to share.Very flavoursome and fresh. You can watch there production line roll, cut, cook, drain, serve garnish the Udon all in the time your waiting. You get a bit worried in line that you might not get a table but tables seem to turn over very quickly.Only regret I have was that I didn’t get a couple of extra tempura as I didn’t what to line up again to get more.Food is excellent value for what you get.
I love Japanese food, but still have a hard time knowing the good from the mediocre. However, when my wife and I visited Hawaii for our Honeymoon. Marukame Udon had a long line, primarily full of Japanese residents, and made their noodles from scratch. The food was amazing, fresh, and clean. The resturant has a good atmosphere and smelled wonderful. Highly recommended.
This is a chain store with many outlets around the world, order your combo ofUdon with various side dishes. My udon came out way too over cooked and the soy dipping sauce too salty (had the kamaage udon). Curry udon was rich and tasty though! Large was very generous and couldn’t finish it. Otherwise lots of variety and great value.
Very tasty. Very good amount of food and reasonably priced. Lines were long. Establishment was somewhat warm. Not enough seats or tables for large party.
Tasty, very fresh udon noodles. Very authentic. Very affordable too…we ate well for $18 for 2 people, which in Honolulu is a real steal! I highly recommend this if you like Japanese food and you’re in the area
