Weekly chill spot. I try to stop by once a week for three to four drinks – not sure when happy hour ends but I usually leave before 7 anyway. The ManJito is darn tasty, and this is likely the only bar in Honolulu, perhaps save for Lewers Lounge or Mai Tai, that makes a Tom Collins with fresh lemon juice (others use a horrible premade mix that makes you look like the Warheads guy and that sometimes contains egg white, which I hate in a drink). I looove bourbon and I looove Manifest’s mint julep – for my palate a better refreshment than any wine spritzer. They’ve had Knob Creek in stock lately, so ask for that instead of Maker’s.And Peroni’s on the rotating tap; get it while you can. It’s an effervescent glass of goodness. As with all establishments I frequent, I go during off hours and thus have little reason to bitch about cramped quarters and sluggish service. I once visited Manifest just as First Friday was beginning and almost didn’t recognize the place … sooo many little girls ordering their saccharine shots and drooling – literally, cos they were already that drunk – over guys with too much product in their hair.Hard to believe it’s just a humble coffee shop during the day.
