Great food for a good price. I had dinner at Yee Hong Pavilion the other night. When I walked in I was surprised at the decor as I had come here previously when it was another restaurant. The carpet is nice and new. There are chandelier’s hanging on the ceiling now which adds a touch of class to the restaurant. The furniture is new too. They must have put a lot of money into the renovation but I believe it’s worth it based on looks alone. There’s even a area sectioned off where you can see people work inside through a two way glass. The utensils were clean which is something considering other places I’ve been where you can still see leftover food residue on it.We split a 4 person meal between 3 people for $48. You can see what we got in the pictures I uploaded. The 4 person meal came with 1 live lobster, a daily soup, choice of 4 different dishes from a list of dishes, and dessert. The 4 dishes we chose was the deep fried chicken with garlic and pepper, capital pork chop, duck feet and black mushroom hot pot, and spicy and garlic eggplant. We also ordered fried to go with our meal which was a good choice which I’ll explain later.First to arrive was the daily soup which was a chicken broth with pork and vegetables in it. I really liked it as I could really taste the chicken and didn’t leave a bad aftertaste.Next came the duck feet and black mushroom hot pot. The duck feet was tender and there was lots of sauce that covered the duck feet which I really liked. The cabbage inside the pot gave a nice crunch of freshness.Lobster served with green onion and ginger sauce. Though we had other choices for a sauce. The lobster was nicely arranged on the plate when it came out, +1 for presentation. The capital pork chop was the best out of all the dishes I believe. It had a good sweet and sour sauce without being completely covered in it (they have the sweet and sour pork chop if you want) and the meat was tender. The eggplant and garlic dish was good. The eggplant was tender and not too mushy, just the way I like my eggplant. There was pork in it and well which added more flavor to the dish. The garlic fried chicken was flavorful with all the garlic on top. The skin had a great crisp to it. The meat was tender. The fried rice was a good dish to order on the side as it was the starch we needed to go with the meal. The rice was cooked nicely with small chunks of salty fish and chicken that wouldn’t overpower the rice. The sweet bean dessert tasted the same as any other place I’ve been but it was a nice finisher to the meal. The portion sizes for all the dishes was big.Lots of food left over so we took it home. Everything was nicely organized inside the takeout containers. For the price and all the food that we got I say it was a super good deal.Service was nice and kept refilling our water which is a +1 for me.The bathrooms are very clean and it’s nicer looking than before. Maybe they renovated the bathroom to be a dine-in bathroom only.
