Phone order. I was so excited to try for the 1st time Mom’s Soul Food because I heard about how good the food was. But after trying to make a phone order I thought twice. The lady who answered the call asked if I could hold which wasn’t a problem. She had put the phone on the side, where I could hear her taking orders from customers already there. But for some reason she had forgotten I was on the line. I was hesitant if I should hang up and call again after waiting 15min. (Which I Did!) When I tried to call back after almost 30min I GAVE UP!!!! Sorry Mom’s Soul Food you just lost out on 5 orders!!!!ANSWER THE PHONE!!!!!
I have been to try Mom’s for a while now…literally, as I have been sitting in the Resturant waiting for my food for about 20 minutes. The staff is okay. The ambiance could use some help. But the food, amazing! I doubt I want to sit and eat again, but I will be calling for some takeout. The wings were crispy. The Mac and cheese was so good, I could slap my momma for hers not even coming close. And the price was def a value. Well done!
Yuuumy. Stopped by Moms Soul Food a few days ago and is now hooked, the food was great, great service awesome!!! thank you Cici 🙂 & Staff Aloha Stacie
Best hole in the wall soul food! Taste just like the real home cooking back in the southern states. There deep fried okra and garlic rice is the reason I look forward to this place. Sure it’s small and cramped at times but it’s a sure sign that the food is delicious.also everyday they have new flavored cakes on the counter. Yum
Pros: Corn bread is absolutely delicious. Moist & buttery. The okra is good too. I prefer the sauteed okra over the fried. If u like gizzards, I highly recommend ordering. Sweet potato fries and chicken is good too. Cons: Way over priced and small portions. I do like the southern taste here, but $11 for only 4 pieces of chicken wings?! C’mon now. Appetizers, sides…all small portions. Restaurant is small so I do recommend take out, it can get pretty busy in there. Overall, food is good, but due to the small portions, u may wanna stop by Jack’s across the street.

Their hours of operation are weird. I tried their Mac & cheese, collard greens, corn bread, fried chicken, meat loaf & gravy, mashed potatoes and rice. The mac & cheese, collards and corn bread are seasoned just right. I don’t care for fried chicken but it was tasty as well. The place is small, I believe there were about 9 tables there. The plate in the picture was $8. The small container of collard greens were an extra $3.50.
The Food was very tasty. Great place to grab southern grub in Hawaii.
