This place is cash only and kind of pricy. Wait staff has computer on their wrists, so kitchen has your order out quick. They are very nice, but are sticklers for enforcing table size per your party. Don’t be surprised to see wild chickens walking around outside on the sidewalks.
Boots & Kimo’s is a must in Kailua! The banana pancakes with the macadamia nut sauce are absolutely delicious and a must. We went on a Sunday at 7:30 and didn’t have to wait. We had read previous reviews so we were nervous about poor service, but we couldn’t have had better service. Our server, Jaron, was so pleasant and friendly. They kept our drinks refilled. Don’t let the negative reviews keep you from trying this place.
Coming here for the first time, it is a small restaurant. The line was outside like everyone says but I only waited 5 mins to be called. I got good customer service for a busy day. The food was good and the wait on the food was nothing out of the ordinary from any restaurant.
A total rip off!!! The pancakes are rubbery thin covered in a creamy sauce (which was good) for $11. Everything else was hard to mess up 1 scoop of rice and a hash patty. Well the corned beef hash patty was the size of a McD’s cheeseburger & made of about 2tbsp of meat potatoes and cut with flour to stretch the meat per plate (how cheap). Typically breakfast yields smaller portions of meat when paired with eggs but these guys have the gull to sell a $12 breakfast plate titled Portuguese sausage with 3 pepperoni sized pieces of sausage. Their portions are ridiculously small and most of menu is ala carte. A side of 2 eggs costs $3.50. The wait to get in of at least 45 no matter what day you try to get in and another 45 min for your food once ordered. We ordered a guava juice and a apple juice and OMG. For $4 you get a 6oz serving of juice, came in bottle the same size you put in your kids lunch.Place full of Japanese tourists who may not even realize that they’re paying an avg $60 for breakfast. We also decided to try their smoothie recommended by our waiter (no price on menu for this) and 3, 8oz totalled $24. Please do yourself a favor and stay far away from these guys. We’ve traveled extensively and have never been railed like this and the bad thing is we’re local coming back for a visit. All in all was not worth the $$. $95 before tip 12 pancakes, 2 breakfast plates & five drinks. You can find a Mac nut sauce in the breakfast aisle of any decent grocer and save yourself $80.
Delicious food, but I am not sure it would have been worth the 90 minute wait we were quoted. We opted to order it as takeaway (which took 30 minutes) and ate it on the tables outside the restaurant.
Clean, yummy and soooo worth the wait!!!! I do not like breakfast good and I do not like pancake with a sauce like macadamian nuts (too much).I got the teriyaki chicken, wow the best teriyaki chicken I have ever had. I felt great after and not yucky bloated. I can’t wait to go back! It is a must!
Macadamia Pancake Sauce. These were the best pancakes I have ever had. The sauce is just awesome. Next time I visit Oahu I will definetly go back & recommend this place to who ever travels there.
