Interesting experience. Not knowing Moroccan dining etiquette or food, my husband and I met here one week night for dinner. You open the door and feel as though you are being transported to another culture, the inside really is like being inside a tent. We were able to have our four course meal in about 75 mins, but there were only three other tables in the restaurant. We thought the spices and the food were amazing. The prix fixe menu is about $37 at this point and includes a sharing plate of apps, soup, an entree of your choosing, and a small dessert plate. We were definitely full. Our waitress was good at filling out water, bad at keeping my soda full, and okay at clearing our table. She was not overly friendly. However, later in our meal, one of the guys from the kitchen started waiting tables and came over to talk with us. He was very friendly and said he hoped we would return with friends (apparently, that is part of the dining experience–however, it is a nice, romantic meal for two, as well). We will definitely return and plan to take others here.UPDATE 12/2011:After returning here once since our last review, we decided to bring more friends here last night. Our second experience was also positive. Unfortunately, the restaurant messed up our 7:30 reservation and just didn’t have it recorded, so I waited about 15 mins to get seated and after we did, we sat at the table for an additional 20 mins with absolutely no service (no water, no nothing…no one came to our table). Seeing as how there was only one waitress for thirteen tables and considering how long we had already waited, we got up and left. We’ve noticed if there are more than four or five tables, the one server can’t keep up and it makes for a loooooong evening of sitting there w/o drinks or food.

If you like eating with your hands and trying something different, then this is the place for you! BYOB makes it extra affordable and the service is wonderful! They even wash your hands for you between courses!
Time for our William Tell routine…& pita. Kitschy place with decent food. Is more about the fun of the experiance than the food itself. If you go there with an open mind and some good friends that can keep a conversation going, your bound to have a great time. This is a course meal reasurant so don’t expect a quick meal. Best if you bring a bottle or two or wine to pass the time. It is kind of like medival times without the jousting, a lot of what your paying for is the ambiance.
Great Experience. This is not just a great restaurant, it is a Middle Eastern experience right in Kailua. Best with a group of fun friends. Lounge around on the floor and couches while eating. Plan to stay a couple of hours. This great place is not for a quick bite.
