This place is a lot of fun and although I was never a shaved ice fan Ono made me one! Staff was great and seemed to be enjoying what the were doing. I went there 3 times in the week that I was there! Always a line there.
Stick to the shaved Ice, it was great. Halo Halo was disappointing .
The portions here are generous and very well-priced. Unfortunately the texture of the ice was coarse and crunchy rather than powdery like good shave ice should be. The flavor of the syrups was good though some were too sweet for my liking.
It did not live up to it’s reputation. The texture was icy instead of powdery, and the syrups were on the sparse side and watery. This is the first time I’ve thrown away a partially eaten snow cone or shaved ice. The line was long but there was only one person doing everything which is very inefficient. Mediocre at best. I will say that they give you a generous amount for only $3.
Truly is the best shaved ice in kauai. I’ve been to Kauai 3 times and can’t believe I only found out about this place on my third trip!! I’ve trip a few shaved ice places around Kauai and this is by far the best shaved ice. They have a machine that finely shaves the ice, there are LOTS of flavours to choose from (max 4 per shaved ice), price is cheaper AND you can add other items to it like mochi, azuki beans, ice cream (including macadamia nut flavoured). A bonus is that you get a lot of shaved ice too.My only negative comment would be that the liquid on the bottom after finishing the shaved ice is way too sweet. I think it’s because the way the cup is shaped makes the syrup float down to the bottom. Otherwise, this place is a must go to in Kauai on a hot day
