Food, service, value, atmosphere and location ALL DEPLORABLE, and not in a good way. I like to visit restaurants to have an enjoyable time and it seems truly impossible at this establishment. 😉
I don’t really care about the politics…I care about food, atmosphere, and service. The restaurant has a nice feel when you walk in. The service was pretty bad…rude and disinterested in seating our party of 6. The food was about what you would expect from Olive Garden. Pasta was overcooked and too soft. The sauce on mine had a somewhat unique flavor, but it was so subtle you had to work for it…pretty bland. Go down by Ala Moana and hit Sistina instead…way better in every way except location.
The food is horrible too, so stay away based on that factor alone. I would never dine here anyways when there are better places to spend your money.
I made the mistake of dining here withfriendsin November 2016. The service was OK. However, the food was bland and the pasta had a mushy texture. I expect Italian food to be full of equally competing flavors. The only flavor to stand out was the tomato in the sauces. My friends and I joked that we should have brought are own Italian spices. The meals were comparable to a frozen Italian microwave meal you buy at the supermarket.
Not too busy when we were but service was terrible. We waited 10 minutes on drinks and another 10 to 15 to order. I had to use the ladies room and noticed a server did not wash her hands after leaving. We cancelled our order and left. No one seemed to care about the complaint. I guess it was better than seeing the chef do it. Either way, the place was rather filthy and many tables left Un-bussed despite the slow hour. If I could give it a negative star I would. Nasty!
Hidden wonder!. We were visiting pear harbor over from Maui and decided to search online for a good place for lunch….we found cafe 8 1/2 and couldn’t have been more surprised! amazing food…great atmosphere…everyone in the party was totally satisfied….. 2 thumbs up!
Fun, good food, friendly & quirky 🙂 booked a table for 10 people for a Sat night bday dinner and was very happy with the service and delicious food!
