This was our first meal on Big Island. Not a great place to sit and eat at. The food was comforting and yummy. Ordered a green papaya salad – a must try. Veg spring rolls and red curry were good.

Right behind the King Kam Marriot, we found some Thai served up quick. The Yum Nuer (beef salad) was fresh with a bright flavor, maybe just a bit short on heat for my taste, but still good. The only minor miss was the beef was not grilled/sliced, but more braised, leaving it a little less flavorful than our favorite places. The cashew chicken was a little boring but still good, could have improved with toasting the cashews? Easy location for slightly above average food.

Found Bangkok House while looking for Original Thai. This was shear luck that we found this little out of the way, Thai Restaurant. It was a welcome stop after a long search for Thai food. The spring roll was excellent and Pad Thai and the Three Buddies (shrimp, chicken, and scallops) were very good. There are not many seats in the place, and the waitress seemed to be the chef and the wait staff, but we didn’t want for anything. The prices were good, and she made our dishes to our heat tolerances.

We discovered this restaurant, located in the King Hamehameha plaza, while looking for another and decided to check it out. It’s very reasonable and the food was very tasty. We had spring rolls, red curry pork dish, spicy noodle with chicken, and jasmine rice all for under $25. It was all very tasty. If you want good food and not break the bank, check it out
