Great Luau Pork Tacos. Oh yes, the pork tacos are great. The girls that work in there act as if you are a nuisance. Funny too, because 95% if the locals are very nice, these girls are definitely in the other 5%.However, even with the less than welcoming staff, the tacos are worth the bitchiness. Eat, don’t ask any questions and leave. You’ll be back for more but you’ll wonder why sometimes.
We’ve missed Hu Lala’s in Hawi for a few years. This place is an easy replacement. Great to have good Mexican back on the Big Island.
Great tacos and burritos — especially the pork. Only disappointment is that the fish isn’t local — it’s AlAskan cod (they were still pretty good though). Great value. Recommended.
Great Mexican on the big island. Great food, reasonable prices. Really liked the habenero salsa. Staff were very polite, not sure what the previous reviewers were talking about.
Mmmm.. Greeeeat food! i was actually planning on going there for lunch today, but they’re not open on Sundays! i almost cried…literally. haha.my ONLY complaint would be their service. i don’t know why, but it seems the more times i go there, the more rude the workers get. i’ve never had a problem with any men workers, but the girls! oh man, they’re sooo rude! so, if you have an outrageous temper, or don’t want to get a little upset while ordering, avoid the place. if you can handle it, GO there! the food is so good, it’s worth it!
One of the best hole in the wall places ever! A definitely some of the best Mexican food on the island. It’s Mexican food with a fun kona flare and even though the place isn’t much the food is still somehow wonderful. A great place to have a quick lunch in Kona!
Awesome local favorites like Barnyard Burrito, and my personal favorite Fish Burrito a/ black beans. Cash only, great grinds in Kona.
