We crave Filipino until our nearly annual trip to HI, where we’ve typically stayed on Oahu and enjoyed Julie’z and Elena’s time and again. So finding a place to get some lechon and adobo on the Big Island was a priority. Trini’s served the purpose, but fell well short of Oahu’s best. We had the Chicharone plate which was served up crisp, but on the cool side and without any of the spicy vinegar side we’ve come to enjoy. The3 mix plate of vegetable pancit, adobo pork and pork with peas was served up with rice noodles. Everything was good, if not a bit over done from sitting in the buffet trays. With2 waters the total $22, which made this a decent lunch but unlikely to get return trip. But with limited options and a taste for Filipino, who knows…
