Raw-di-cal!. My husband and I so enjoyed this place – weren’t sure what to expect. The food was amazing…we had raw-sagna (in lieu of lasagna) – it was amazing and with it, we had the daily soup, ‘celery soup’, and a tossed salad and a tasty blueberry ginger juice. We liked it all so much we ordered a second round of everything. The menu was just the three items with a host of smoothies and juices as the menu changes daily according to what is freshly available at the farmers market. We will definitely be coming back and spreading the word. We are really hoping this place thrives. The prices were right and the food was excellent. The wait staff and the chef were a delight. If you like raw vegan gourmet cuisine, you cannot go wrong. Be mindful the food is not all low fat, but as a special treat, this place is the raw deal! Wishing the Aloha Wellness Cafe and its chef lots of prosperity! Finally a delicious option for raw vegans on the Big Island of Hawaii – worth the 90 minute drive from Kona. Aloha nui loa!
RAWesome!. I’m not one to normally write a review but more people need to know about this place because it’s what Hilo has truly needed. Finally a truly organic and gmo-free cafe with raw, vegan, gluten free, and delicious food at surprising affordable prices. I moved here months ago and have been lacking options to dine-out, thus I very much appreciate the hard work this place does for it’s conscious efforts in being attentive of food allergies and for delivering every entree in the most nutritious methods. The cafe is in the heart of a Wellness Center so you get this vibe of health all around you. I found the small dining room to be a very intimate atmosphere and you feel like a guest in your family member’s home. The few occasions I’ve patronized their establishment, the menu had changed because it revolves around what is fresh at the farmers market which I absolutely appreciated. The staff was very knowledgable about nutrition and health but most importantly they were friendly and hilarious. (Easy on the eyes too…just saying!)Oh and may I add that they have the best desserts in town…but maybe I’m just saying that because it’s the only restaurant that offers raw vegan desserts. haha 0=]
