The service here is very slow. We were never asked if we wanted refills, and it took over thirty minutes for us to get two burgers. The food itself was decent but definitely not worth the wait.
Good Burgers Quirky Place. Nothing like a huge, hot, juicy burger and and ice cold beer (half price at happy hour). The burgers could have had a little more seasoning but the selection was interesting and diverse. We enjoyed the atmosphere and when in Hilo, this is choice number one for a burger.
Relaxed bar setting with burgers that are nearly always good and great beer selection of local and mainland brews. Has music on Friday nights. I agree with other reviews that service is not fast or particularly attentive, especially depending on who your bartender is. Prices are pretty average for Hawaii, which in general is more expensive than the mainland. Overall I’d recommend aside from the service for a beer and a burger.
Decent food, poor service. The food at the Burger Joint is pretty good (although quality is not quite consistent and some items don’t seem fresh and/or possibly frozen.) for Hilo, but their service is slow, and inattentive. Poor service seems to be a result of poor management.
Great burger, huge selection. Fun atmosphere. We went on Monday night and it was trivia night. The entire place was into it. Friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Worst dinner experience!. The blue cheese burger had no taste and was actually burnt. Had to take it back twice. Won’t be back anytime in the near future!
AVOID THIS HOLE IN THE WALL. We are visiting from Denver and went here because we were super hungry. First off, the menu is huge and they have many burgers to chose from! The prices were pretty steep. $12 for a burger with fries or salad. We ordered two Big Island Burgers for $12 each. They were not as we expected. The meat was burnt and tasted bad and the tomatoes were not ripe. In addition, It took almost 45 mins for us to receive the food. This is unexceptable, esp. for that price. I would advise to stay away from run down hole in the wall places and look around before you decide where to eat.
